HE is right. I forgot about headers too. CVT just tends to lose bottom end when trans engages. Piggyback, pulley and HEADER and eleiminated that so that your incresed power ranges from 3300-REDLINE.

Hey Rob...

I've got a CEL since installing my RRM SRI that's been harassing me since I installed it.

First problem I found was that I somehow managed to discombobulate my MAF o-ring during install, so I replaced it. I've driven it about 2000 miles since, and the CEL seems to toggle itself on and off about every other gas fill-up. O-ring is fine, MAF is flush to the intake pipe, and I've tried several tweaks to how far the air filter is positioned on the pipe (obviously you can tell I'm reaching here). Any ideas?

I'm going on vacation to Vegas and Cali in August...I just might stop-by your shop and see if y'all can slap-on some headers for me...if you'll have them in stock.

Thanks!

Is the v1 and v2 cone filters the same?

Wondering if i can wash my v1 filter like you can wash the v2 filter. Bought mine used and it's a little dirty.

Carefully wash it but basically it is a dry filter like AEM's. We sell replacements. Replace them as often as you would replace a Stock OEM panel.

has anyone had any problems with blowing anything or other issues with their SRI? I really want to buy one but i'm going to have to get it installed by somebody else and when i mentioned to one of the guys i know at the dealership i bought it from he said they don't touch that stuff because its too much for the stock engine to handle.

i'm new to modding cars so i wouldn't know..

you'll be fine. if you know how to use a screw driver, you should be just fine for installing yourself. Just take your time and read directions. If you are that worried about the warranty, take it off before going to the dealer.

the service guys at my dealer are a bunch of douchebags though unfortunately. A bunch of old farts who don't realize Japanese cars are really fun to tune.

So....havent been here in a while.
Now interested in buying either the RRM SRI or the KN SRI.
Both companies have a very good reputation and back up their products.
Now lets move onto the differences....besides price

I know, asking about unbiased opinions here may be difficult, but someone please try. Which one to get? KN already posted a 6.73hp gain at 5100rpms.
What about RRM?

Cool

A short ram intake is a short ram intake, I highly doubt you'd notice a difference from one brand to another. I'm pretty skeptical of K&N's claim of 6.7 HP.

U have been here all the time, so where are the dynos that proves claims of 8-9 hp from RRM?
By the way, what would u believe then? I know your experience was harsh with your old lancer, but lets forget about that.
I want DATA.
Thats how u compare both of them.
Opinions dont matter much, except if they come from owners explaining how their product has been working etc.
Thats what I want then, DYNO SHEETS, data and some feedback from true owners.
THANKS.

Here's the fundamental problem, dyno sheets can and are fabricated. As an obvious example, various manufacturer's claim "huge" gains with grounding kits and they have "proof" but do they actually do anything? It's doubtful. Most people don't want to go and buy an intake, spend the money to get a before dyno, spend the money for an after dyno and do it over and over again. What I can tell you is the days of bolt-ons are gone. ECU tuning is absolutely essential now. A lot of intakes work by simply leaning out the mixture. While this works, whether it's safe is debatable.

Amby come on, concentrate in what I am asking, if u simply cannot provide that, then just read the answers while drinking

Seems that butt dynos are more reliable than -altered- dyno sheets !!
Yeah, lets get info from true owners and their experience as well. !
If most people dont do after before dynos, who cares about them! Im asking for the ones that do care about their mods. Like u did with your old lancer, only to find out it was pure crap. Thats the attitude!!

Big question, u pay $100 more for the KN SRI vrs the RRM SRI just for the KN BADGE??? Thats is the $100 question
