Imploded? Do you know how much suction it would take for something that isn't air tight to implode? The air filter by its very nature is supposed to let air through. Therefore it would take either a faulty unit, or maybe the vaccuum force of a turbo jet engine to pull apart something that is designed to let air through. Post pics. Unless this guy is running a 5000 hp engine his particular unit was faulty. It happens, no matter the manufacturer of any product, faulty units happen.
I'm cool with my Apexi filter. Please run a Spectre filter if you choose to. I was just trying to forwarn some people prior to disaster.

I am the guy that cut the coupler off the RRM filter, kept it around the base of the intake, and slid a 3 inch K&N cone filter right over it and tightened it down with the provided clamp. Worked great, no leaks, and better quality filter. Would take pics, but recently sold the Lancer. I still have the K&N panel filter for sale that was used for maybe a week. It is still in it's orginal box, stickers, and all. Will sell cheap; just PM me.
