Good question, I still have a set of Evo X cams sitting in my parts storage area... can't believe I would be the first person to report back and actually dyno before and after results... on my Outlander Sport lol.

I've posted my specs on here before.. I've had Evo X cams, BC Lifters, retainers, springs etc done for about a year and a half now and I'm in NJ. I have about 6k invested in the enitire build. I Dyno'd @ 198 WHP but that was on a really humid night (84 degrees and 78+% humidity) So, I know on a cool night I am over 200.
Car: 2009 Lancer GTS w/CVT 2.4 w/65k miles (32k before build)
I have:
Evo X Stock Cams
Brian Crower Lifters, Retainers, springs, etc
Evo X Cam Sensor
RRM Intake
RRM 4-1 Header
Alutec Crank Pulley
RRM Trans Cooler
Apexi Header Back
WORKS Flash
Ported Throttle Body
Tein S-tech springs
General G-Max 225/40/18 tires
Katana Racing Wheels
Built and Tuned by Ray Torres of EMP Performance formerly in Shiloh NJ

They changed the fuel cut off to 7 k but changed it back to 6500 since the cvt is so delicate it's my daily driver so it is conservatively tuned. I'm sure I could get a lot more out of it. But I have been running like this for 30k miles and I'm fine with it

Nice! Right now the Outlander sport forces a shift at 6000-6100 so I'm assuming that If I can't even rev to 7k that lifters, retainers and springs aren't really needed. If there was a way to raise the shift points higher on the CVT in ECUflash that would be great but haven't found that yet.

Is the Evo X Cam Sensor also required or was it swapped in just in case? If there is a valid reason then I'll add that into the cost of the upgrade.

Thanks for sharing, those are strong whp numbers for normally aspirated for sure. I think just hitting 200 crank HP or 165 Dynojet WHP with the Evo X cams dialed in would be awesome for the Outlander Sport 2.0 4B11 engine. Even at 3250 lbs it could net low 15's @ 90 mph which would be plenty for a daily driver/winter car.

I don't know if the cam sensor was actually "Needed" for the build, but the guy that did it, found that the 272 gears were causing the stock cam sensors to crack and it was ruining engines (which is why we went with stock cams not the BC 272) But he had the sensor from a crashed Evo in the shop and threw it in to make sbe safe. I got a CEL when it was first put in, but it went away after a few hours and hasn't come back since.
The only alarm I have now is the requires daily maintenance light because I do the oil changes and tune ups myself and can't reset it. But I have been running fine now for awhile.

Great luck on your build!!!

As I know cam position sensors are the same between Lancer & Evo.

So without me having to read everything here, has anyone purchased the EvoX cams and had them ground down to a more suitable NA profile?

There is an extra 0.4/0.38mm valve lift to be had, and more if the base circle gets ground down a bit. Could our engines handle this increase in lift or duration without developing interference?

We could probably go pretty wild on the lift profile and duration while still maintaining driveability with the range of motion available on the 4b12 mivec.

Probably if you could see gains of 15-25 hp range and be compatible with the 4b12 and 4b11, you would think a vendor would fill that part of the market. I think cams are one of the best options for increased power on a normally aspirated setup so you would think there would be a demand for NA specific cams that proved good gains.

Cams were out for a while from RPW but there just wasn't enough interest, so I hear.
