RRM motor mount

Well I finally installed my RRM front motor mount after having it lie on my floor for about 6 months. I have to say the difference is incredible, before my car would jerk and buck whenever I let go or got on the gas suddenly. Now it's smooth and comfortable. Shifting seems better and the car seems to have a little more spunk. The install wasn't bad, once I was able to drop the cross member. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone, even people with close to stock cars.

Took me like an hour but that included getting the car up on ramps, waiting for it to cool, fiddling around a bit and then finally figuring out how to do it. If you just did that last bit you could do it in 20 min.

Well I got the RRM motor mounts, hence my first sentence "Well I finally installed my RRM front motor mount after having it lie on my floor for about 6 months." Go to RRM's website for more info.

Ambystom01: Did you have to use something to support your engine when you "dropped the cross member"?
And do you still have the rear motor mount?

Got mine installed a little while ago. (my local tuning shop did it along with some other work) It makes a pretty nice difference. I don't get much wheel hop at all, and the shifts are a lot better where the car doesn't rock forward/backward. I need to replace all my bushings though. heh.

no the motor weight is supported by the two mounts on the sides... the front and rear mounts main purpose is to decreas twisting on the two side mounts and keep the motor fairly stable.

it will still do this even with both motor mounts in just not as bad... this is a FWD thing and you cant realyy get around it... we could have had the anti lift kit fit...

I still have the stock rear mount, figured the annoyance wasn't worth it at this time considering my mods. I didn't need to support the engine, it didn't move at all when I dropped the cross member.
Wiretap, what bushings are you going to replace?

I'm still unsure. I need to see what companies offer bushings for our lancer's. I'm hoping for some good stuff polyurethane bushings. Maybe Energy Suspension makes a full kit for us? If you know of any, let me know. I need to do mine soon. Maybe this fall or winter.

Only bushings I know we can get are sway bar bushings (I believe front and back) and shifter bushings. Someone on here emailed Energy Suspension not too long ago and they said they had no plans to make a full kit for us.
