If you guys look at the installation manual in pdf. the unit comes with a component much like the alpine 420i.. So in a sense you will get pure digital sound through your radio and not a crappy FM transmitted one.. The mods should make this a sticky and someone should post a step by step how to on the install...

After throughly reading the instructions in the PDF file,
I am going to make my own alterations to the install.
Instead of placing my ipod in the glovebox,
where i would be retarded to place it IMO,
I am going to go with my planned mod.
Im going to replace the factor hinge on the arm rest,
with a hinge that can open 180 degrees,
and mount it reversed, so that it opens towards
the stick shift / front of car, where i can use/reach it.
I will cut a mount for the ipod with the dimensions
needed to keep it snug.
To keep it in place while upside down is something I am not 100% on yet.
(VERY open to ideas)
I will run the cable under the carpets to the arm rest,
cut accordingly so that the mounted Ipod will be reached,
charged (if the part does that, which i hope it does) and makes me happy.
Im not sure where to place the adapter main unit yet,
but I would like to keep it out of sight if possible.
Maybe in that little sunglass holder below the dials and above the cig adapter?
Any ideas or suggestions welcomed, im taking measurements now.

If you look,
I may be mistaken, but is it showing me to have wires externally on
my dashboard?
cause im not cool with that.
I will find some way to make this an almost all internal job.
they seem adamant about that unit being in the passenger side
wall thing....
dunno if were getting around that.
Ideas again?

to get it to your armrest, run it back behind th head unit, then take out your center console (the oart with the cupholders) and run it under there. Thats where I planned on running it. I'm having my buddy make me a custom armrest top that has a spot for the ipod with the charger/plug for audio in it so the arm rest is still flat on top.

I did something similar ...
http://www.frameleft.com/evo/gallery...s/100_3231.jpg
There is room beside the e-brake to mount the control box if needed. It's kind of a pain to hook up though. I just used an old universal cell phone holder for my mount instead of fabbing something. the mount is big enough for my video iPod and can also hold my wife's Nano.
I did not use the Mitsu controller though .. I've got a Sony head unit.

I don't know if the stock unit will show the track that is playing. Most aftermarket units will. Mine is odd ... it shows the artist/album/title and scrolls it if needed, but then it disappears after a few seconds. I honestly haven't played with the settings on the head unit to figure this issue out ...
