Okay well it is now the first of June, so i figured I would post the most recent pics i have. Not quite as far as I thought, didn't know I would have needed a new engine. And it took a little while to right deal on the welding/cutting tools. But its coming along good. let me know what you all think. The V8 would have been MUCH easier haha.

good to see everything is comming together but there is a bright side to the motor being blown atleast you can rebuild the bottom and make this thing into a real beast

Hello! sorry if my comment is off topic, but I wanted to share my ideas:
I saw some discussions about if your conversion is vaild or not but I have seen this:

Analyzing the pictures of the Lancer Evolution 2005 WRC, I see that is a Lancer Oz or ES , with some body kit, but it still an EVO, I know it is AWD with Brembo brakes etc, but I feel that mitsubishi is saying us, hey you can take whatever Lancer and build your own EVOLUTION because your imagination does not have limits :

Check the front, I see a Lancer ES or OZ 2001-2003, the headlights are not the EVO VIII ones, look the fenders, they are worked on the stock chasis, they are not on the stock EVO VIII fenders

Check this other one, the tail lights are not the EVO VIII ones , they are the Es or OZ ones, the rear fenders are worked to accept the tyres, and the rear bumper is not the EVO bumper is the ES or OZ one:

Then I think we can take our Lancer ES, OZ, Ralliart, Evolution, and create
the monster that we want, FWD, AWD, RWD.

I just say you: go with your proyect!

Granted time and time again. Anything can be done with $$$. You can't make our lancer look and work like the Lancer WRC with $5-10k. Mitsubishi dumped a lot of $$$ into making that thing. Yes that's our chassis, but with the money you have trying to make the lancer into a beast like that.... might as well get an evo or rebuild the entire engine and try to make it a mini-monster and aim for something more attainable to us like 200-300 hp.

It's not an Evo, it technically started life as a Lancer. Sure you can do anything if you have unlimited cash flow and an entire team of top level mechanics and engineers who all earn 6-figure incomes minimum and have 6 months to a year to build the car and test it. If you want to spend several million dollars on a Lancer, go nuts.

You realize WRC cars are build from the bare shell of a production car and a major percentage of the parts that go into it are made in house

this

there is a video somewhere of a rally team building a subaru. They start out with a stock STI, then completely strip it down to the shell and then rebuild it.

The wiring harness alone on that WRC car is worth more than the average house.
