I never said that, just simply listing the facts. What assumptions you make from that is up to you.

fearthisrc, a car is way more involved then "just a bunch of random materials put together with plastic and metal."

When your altering suspension and cutting into your chassis you should be extremely knowledgeable in engineering and proper metal fabrication procedures. if not have someone who is look at it. The body ideally should be placed on a jig and secured before you go cutting into the firewall. You dont want it moving around on you when your adjusting everything.

Just dont cut corners and dont hack anything together, the last thing you want is the car falling apart around you while your cookin down the highway.

Keep an eye on my build thread since it may give you some ideas and help along the way. Not sure what time frame your planning on having this done and running in but for us were looking at next season at this point.

Well the engine will be in and running by June 1st, but i would hope to finish it by fall. Although i highly doubt that haha. I am not worried about my welds breaking or the frame of the car being strong enough. Because it will get plenty of support for the engine and the uni-body frame rails. The rear end will be the most difficult. And the engine will probably come out 2 more times before it is finished. Unless I find a smoking deal on an outlander/evo rear end, then i will get rid of the one i have now. I have the necessary abilities to make this car stronger than an evo as far as the driveline goes. Really there is not a project in my head that i feel I don't have enough knowledge to do with the right amount of money.

I would have not started this project if I didn't think I could do it alone. I want to show EVERYONE that you can do A LOT to a car with little money and a few hand tools. Of course you still have to know a bunch for it to turn out right, which I have plenty of confidence mine won't be quite show material, but i can still show it and not be ashamed.

And why do people think a 19 year old guy can't do something anyone else has done. Is there a certain age as to where people start taking you for real and not thinking you are retarded. Comon people! I have been raised around cars. I was tought the basics until i was 14, everything since has been things i have been teaching myself. The project will be completed ! Lov ya to AMBY!

3000gt vr4

NEWS! Tomorrow I am going to get a Mitsubishi 3000gt VR4 with a bunch of mods, but it has been sitting for 3 years and unsure of why it doesn't run 800$ =) Will post pics tomorrow if i can get it towed to the house. I think it is a killer deal. And hopefully I can just flip it, and not keep it. Although I think it would be a killer setup for my car. What do you all think?

Keep it
Sell it
Use it for the Lancer

Yea basically, I can't decide.

Because I already have the V8 bought, so i have an option.
And I still really want the V8, but keeping it all Mitsu would be great.

And looking at the mods I could see, I would guess the VR4 has 400ish HP
And the V8 has 325 HP.

So.... any input?

Okay, so my girl wants me to run awd, and i couldn't find any where about any lancer with the VR4 twin turbo engine. She thinks the awd is safer and since all the parts are there for that swap.

But i have already bought almost all the parts for V8 swap. So i could save all the V8 parts for the next car. Or continue the V8 swap?

Although I would love to have a V6 AWD Twin Turbo Lancer, and I would love to have a V8 RWD Lancer just as much.

Any thoughts?

v6 awd v8 would be different but it takes away from the car being jdm imo it's better to keep it all mitsu save yourself alot of work and headaches although the awd won't be a direct bolt in either

And I can't find anything on the web about a V6 Lancer. So it would be the only one haha. Unless someone can find one. But I am leaning towards AWD. I just don't know what to do with all the V8 stuff yet. I might just save them for the next project.

Hahaha someone want an engine? I have 3 now.

HAHAHAHA the sparcos that have been sitting in the car are worth that alone. NO

Either I am flipping the car(cleaning it up and making it run good, to sell for a good amount)

Or using it as the donor

No way i am selling it for 900, sorry man.
