Everyone's CEL comes on with a header install cuz it removes the 1st cat and causes both o2 sensors to get the same reading. Except for my magical RPW header which hasn't triggered the CEL, and I've been using it for months now...

There's a CEL fix you can buy from ILP that wires into the 2nd o2 sensor to fix your problem.

will CEL cause any problems with the car...or does it just show the light (check engine)?

causes no problems with the car... however if something else does occure then you won't know as the light will already be on.

So if you get the headers and test pipe... you have no cats?

pumpdog720, since you mentioned a test pipe, i have a question for you. on RRM website, it says not to drive on freeways and such with a test pipe. Why is this? and if you get one, do you have to trade the stock and the RRM one back and forth depending on the condition?

Well I think it's mostly because of the smog restrictions and stuff like that, so you can get busted if you drive without your cat, but if you live in a place like me in FL, where there are no checks, then you can get away with it.. just don;t take it to the dealership. But you can drive with it on.

im looking at the RRM site and it shows a GReddy catback exaust system...and then lower it shows a test pipe...would you need a test pipe if you are getting the catback exaust?

Yes the cat back is for everything past the cat, so it does not change the cat, the test pipe changes the cat.

Correct. The header removes the 1st cat and the test pipe removes the 2nd cat. Lots of gain, but super high pitched exhaust note.
