2008 Lancer "pulls to the left" Issue Petition
I guess I'll post it here.
I've only driven with my stock Dunlops for about two weeks. I've been rollin' on black steelies and winter tires for almost two months now so I haven't really noticed mine pulling to the left.
If it is really an issue of tires causing this problem, has anyone successfully got theirs replaced with a different brand under warranty??? Sorry, I didn't really wanna plow through 10 pages of posts.

well my car is on day 3 at the dealer they have sent it to 2 suspension shops n its still pulling they said they will call mitsu directly tommr im guessing that it really is the tires i just hope they throw on some nittos haah
im starting to think its the tires... b/c when blacksheep changed his tires to the 16s he noticed his pulling to the left issue was gone... now i got my wheels rotated, balanced, and realigned and it stopped pulling to the left.. now what i found weird was that now my car turns to the right... damn my car..... ohh well.. it doesn't really bother me cause i always have my hands on the wheel and the only reason i notice it pulls to the right is b/c my steering wheel is positioned like im turning left when i drive.. oh well what can you do.. i guess i'll just have to wait until i have to get new shoes on my car, and then i can pick some quality rubber...
okay so i finally got my car back after 4 days of work it was actually the camber there was to much negative camber on the left but now the tpms light is comming up so i might have to go back again blahhh
I have my 2nd appointment scheduled for Tuesday (2/12/08).
One month ago (1/12/08) and @ 6300 miles - I had it in for service for the dreaded "pull to the left". They aligned and rotated all 4 tires.
It still has the issue, now at 6500 miles.
The whole front end seems to shake now, while the car is still pulling to the left...at any/all speeds. All 4 tires are the same PSI (34).
Very frustrated. Will contact Mitsu directly after this next appointment if it's still there. I'll then start the "Dispute Resolution Process" after that.
FYI: The "Dispute Resolution Process" paperwork should be in with your owners manual and warranty books (Glove box) for anyone else thinking of going this route. It's a separate while foldout (10 pages) that explains the process and instructions pretty well actually.

I had my car (GTS w/ manual tranny) for about almost 10 months now (had 1 mile on the odometer). Drove it off the lot and immediately it pulled to the left (under more than moderate acceleration). Didn't think nothing about it nor did I think about the pull/drift to the left. What's strange is after each rotation the car would pull to a different direction (alternating from left to right). Now it is pulling to the right which forces me to turn the steering wheel to the left so now its off centered. Because of this the tire tread has worn out differently than I'm used to. Not sure if I have much of an argument here since I'm over 26K miles (mostly highway). I plan on purchasing newer tires and getting an alignment to see if I have the same problems. I have a slew of other problems which I will find the appropriate thread to reply to.
Just got back from bell mitsu here in jersey where i got my 08 lancer gts and they claim they sent it out and fixed the alignment, but to me it seems worse then before. what i dont get is that i went to the same dealership that mines hotter went to and they didnt mention anything about camber bolts to me. I guess ill be calling them back 2morw and going to lose my car for another day. ON another note the tire concept doesnt make sense, to me if u think about it its a 50/50 chance that the tire that is defective would be on the left or right so how could 99% of the owners with problem be from the tires correct me if i am wrong but it seems to be a vast majority of the problem that the car goes tot he left. Honestly i wise it was i would love better all season tires.
On another note a little off topic but the guy behind the desk at the dealership thought i was someone else so he started appologizing for me having to come back so many times to get this problem fix. probably thought i was mines hotter haha.

Here is another option (not sure it will help though...maybe if enough of us do this):

So, I am at the dealer right now...been here for 3.5hrs already.
Service mgr just told me that the tech did not get the vibration/shaking, but did get the pull to the left. Told me that they are trying to re-balance the tires but each time they do it keeps telling them to keep adjusting or to add more weights. He then said that they took off all 4 tires and removed them from the wheels and they all 4 have a mysterious black liquid substance inside them that they had never seen before. He said they even called Mitsubishi to try and figure out what the substance is, and they said they have no clue. They are now trying to clean out the substance. I asked them to show me and sure enough it was there. I don't really know how to describe it, it almost looks like black glue?
Does anyone have any idea what this stuff is? Is it supposed to be there?
I have not shown them my printouts that show a lot of other Gts pulling to the left issues, looks like I'll have to save that for the next appointment.

Well, still clueless as to what the black substance was inside the tires (between the rims and the tire)...anyone else want to chime in?
they "cleaned it out" and then balanced the tires and aligned the front end.
Total time spent at dealer 7.5 hrs plus a 1.5hr drive each way = 10.5 hrs
BUT...I had no pulling to the left on the trek home and that is the first time that I haven't had the problem since the day it was driven off the lot. So, whatever they did seemes to have cured the problem for now.
We'll see how things go from here...if it starts to pull again, I'm calling Mitsu for sure...
