they "cleaned it out" and then balanced the tires and aligned the front end.

Total time spent at dealer 7.5 hrs plus a 1.5hr drive each way = 10.5 hrs

BUT...I had no pulling to the left on the trek home and that is the first time that I haven't had the problem since the day it was driven off the lot. So, whatever they did seemes to have cured the problem for now.

We'll see how things go from here...if it starts to pull again, I'm calling Mitsu for sure...
hey, can you send the 50 pages of complaints in me in microsoft words so i can show my mitsu services to get my issue fixed too?

All you have to do is:

Under "Thread Tools" select "Show Printable Version" and then print it out

Update; Still running good today...no shaking or pulling/drifting

New 2008 Pulls to the left as well…

Hi All,

I'm a newbie to this forum. I just wanted to add one more complaint to the list. I just purchased a 2008 Lancer GTS (Manual Trans) on 2/29/2008. I have 1500 miles on it so far. When I realized I had an issue with the car pulling I searched the internet and found this thread.

I took my car to the dealer, they aligned it, which of course did no good. I brought it back and they gave me a B.S. story about engine torque causing it. I had a printout of this list with me. The dealer agreed to have a rep from Mitsu look into it next week.

I'll be happy to post the results of that appointment as soon as it happens!

Thanks to all for posting to this thread in the first place. It would be much more difficult to fight Mitsu alone on this issue than armed with the info from others.

Also pulling to the left

I am new to forum but have the same problem with my 08 GTS pulling to the left. My tires were worn completely down to the cords after 7500 miles. The dealer put two new tires on the front performed an alignment and it still pulls. Told me all cars pull to one side or another. That is BS. The dealer is supposed to contact a factory rep. I'll beleive it when I see it. So for now Im stuck with a car that pulls left. Dont know what else to do.

my car drove fine until i got my first tire rotation. right away i noticed pull to the left. Went to dealer they basicalyl told me to go deal with goodyear to try and get warranty. did that but got pro-rated (meaning goodyear was only willing to partially cover the cost) went back to the dealership told them to step and take care of the problem, they told me to call the 1800 number...havn't done that yet.
mitsu is the master of sidestepping problems and sweeping their dirt under rugs. If i didnt love this car so much i would have traded it in already simply because the customer service when something is wrong is horrific.

Not sure if anyone posted this already, but I've been to the dealer 3 times about the pulling left and they did an alignment each time with no success.

Finally they told me this week that there was a Mitsu meeting and they will be issuing a TSB for the issue soon...

If a TSB is issued do you know if it is going to affect your dealership or all dealerships across north america?

TSBs affect ALL dealerships.

I just wonder if the TSB will be for the tires or the fact that they can't align the car?

I dont know if it will be for tires. We have two new tires on my GTS and it still pulls left. We also had an alignment done. It seems to be getting worse. Our tires are wearing out on the inner tread of the left front tire. Our new tires have only 2000 miles on them and you can actually feel the wear already. We have had it to the dealer three times and nothing is fixed. Our dealer met with a rep this week. We are waiting to hear what the resolution will be.

Damn, at least ur dealership is making attempts. Mine basically said they don't deal with the tires so basically im SOL.
im going to be writing to headquarters and see if i can get anything out of that.
I don't see any reason why i should spend any money on any part of a brand new car when i wasn't the cause of the problem

We actually had to pay for the front 2 replacement tires. We wrote a letter to the dealer and a letter to. We didn't get any response from the dealer until 2 months later. Just had the car out today pull seems to get gradually worse. Just had an alignment done a week and a half ago.

OK, mine is a little different I believe. If I put my steering wheel center the car pulls to the right, but only when I center the steering wheel. I seems they put the steering wheel on wrong. I go next week to have it looked at. (This is while driving) My car came with Dunlop Se Sport 5000m's. Not sure what every one else got as stock. Maybe it's the brand of tire?

The alignment was likely worthless. As I love to point out (because it angers me), 3 of the 6 alignment settings on the Lancer are just "not able to be set" and hopes "close enough" will be OK. It's usually not. That's why I bought camber bolts...

Adding my complaint.

Just want to add my issue too. I had it for 2 weeks, my car's been pulling to the left. I went to the dealer and got a tire rotation(didnt help), then I got an alignment(didnt help either). I talked to the service manager and he told me to call Customer Relations at Mitsubishi in Mississauga Ontario Canada.

I told one of the rep and he filed the issue and he said either the service manager or him will contact me, but didnt give me an estimate of when.

This sucks!

p.s. On top of the "pulling left" issue, I'm starting to see paint chips at the end of the side shirts. This double sucks!! I wish I should of researched more before getting a lancer.

Drifts/Pulls to the left

so last week the Mitsu rep came to town and I went to the dealership eager to meet him. Armed with the knowledge provided on this and other message boards I felt optimistic about resolving my Lancer's problem.

We went for a drive and the rep acknowledge that my car did in fact have a problem—it pulls to the left.

I left the car with the dealer for the afternoon. Late that day the service manager called to let me know my car was fixed. He said they cross-rotated the tires which didn't fix it, then they aligned it by loosening some bolts before the car got put on the rack. This fixed the vehicle. The rep left (big surprise) but asked the service manager to tell me my car was fixed and if there is any further drifting to the left then that's just Mitsubishi spec (appearently all mitsu's like to drift into oncoming traffic).

At any rate, when I picked up my car nothing was fixed. It drfts/pulls to the left same as before.

I think I'm going to claim lemon law, get my money back and buy a civic.
