Trouble starting....

I've got my 08" lancer gts with about 12,000 miles on it. Just recently it has been hard at start. When starting it takes about three try's to start her up. I just noticed and fixed the air filter being inproperly installed by jiffylube. Does anyone have any of these effects with there's.. Any suggestions would be great before having to take over to the dealership..

See if you can find a scan tool, and see if there is a soft code stored in the memory. Soft codes may not show a check engine light, but when there is something minor going on with a code pending, it may report it.

might give you a clue.

Cheers

You may take it to the dealer and have them fix it. There was a TSB for starting problems a while ago. I had this done and haven't had a problem since.

Thanks for all the input.. I've replaced the air filter and correctly closed the air box..Thxs to jiffy lube for not closing it properly. I will take that into consideration to take to dealer if it does happen again.

My dealer put my air filter on wrong so I would say it is hit or miss. I mean if you separate the box fully when taking out the old filter some people may have a hard time putting it back together properly...

Well i've got to say it's not the air filter that's prohibiting the car from starting.. Wife told me again that the car took four times to turn over. Called the dealer and have a appt. to take it in.. Made a point the vehicle is under warranty and on 13,000 miles on it..

the car is currently at the dealership.. I've called to see what the status maybe on the lancer, but they state they can't dupilcate the problem that the vehicle starts with no problem..damn...Well i guess i'll just have to listen to the wife whine about the car some more!! lol...

Make sure your heated seats are off before you try... I forgot a few times and that seems to be when I have trouble starting the car... could have just been a coincidence though.. who knows.
