When I start driving and am on the throttle just a little bit, in the lower half of the RPM's I have what sounds like a loose belt or something... but its SO quiet and hardly hearable unless you pay attention.... It is on the right side from someone whos sitting in the car's perspective.

Ever since I put on my high flow cat and header, I notice a kind of loud, sharp rattling noise from inside the cabin. It is especially a loud rattle if I go under an overpass. I actually solved the problem though. If anyone else has this similar problem, let me help you out. The resonation from certain RPM levels makes the little sunglasses holder lid on the right driver side (or left passanger side) armrest thing rattle. To fix this, all you have to do is get some of those little felt sticky things used to put on the bottom of objects on a nice wooden table, and stick them to the front corners of the lid when you open up the little storage compartment. I'll draw a diagram real quick and post it.

Ok i have a strange noise; every since i went and had my fuel system/radiator/transmission flushed at a local oil place, i hear this "tweet" noise aroudn 3k rpms. if my rpms are higher than 3k i dont hear it. It hasnt really made any difference in performace well for one b/c i just had all that flushed but im thinking they did something to make it sound like this b/c it wanst like this b4. I check all my lines; all seems fine, any ideas?

is it a really soft sound like a muzzled bird chirping constantly? Because I get that too and I have no idea what it is. It doesn't sound like it's a belt, because it isnt really all that loud.

hey guys i am looking for some help on this one...a couple of weeks ago i hit an unavoidable pothole on NJ's worste road (Fischer B;vd.) ever since then i have noticed a huge loss in pwer (i can't even chirp 2nd gear anymore). whenever i turn the steering wheel (car in motion) in either direction there seems to be an obvious clicking coming from the front passenger side of the car...i pulled apart the brakes to make sure everthing was still seated properly, as it was. my next guess was that i could likely have cracked/damaged my CV joint or CV arm. any suggestions on what else it could be?

I have a strange noise that sounds like its coming from behind the glove box area. It sounds kinda like a faint rattle.

from the way it sounds it makes me think of a valve or a lid opening and closing a bunch of times.

its most noticable when I give the throttle the slightest touch. Almost like the exhaust pressure is trying to push a valve open but there isnt enough pressure to constantly keep it open. At WOT the sound is not noticable (unless of course I'm just not hearing it over my exhaust.)

The sound is also not present at idle or when car is in motion but I'm not on the gas. If the car is in gear and I coast down a hill without touching the gas it wont make it either. So there isnt an RPM range that its consistant with.

Like I said its only present when I very lightly touch on the gas.....it almost sounds like if you had a mouse in a coffee can and he was trying to scratch his way out...(sorry but thats the most accurate sound description I can give.).....

any ideas guys?

I have a catback exhaust and intake as far as engine mods go. I just installed the piggyback but it was doing this before the install. I was running 93 octane gas for about 2 months before the piggy install because I just kept putting it off. I've heard a few mention that running 93 in our cars without a piggy isnt such a great idea, could this have possible done something?

bump for anybody who's might know what this is.....

I should also mention that a while ago I was lightly rearended and im wondering if when I got hit my exhaust was hit/moved forward creating a leak or breaking something.

i think my hood isnt tight. when im at idle i hear this ticking sound. i got out of my car once and i pushed down on the hood and it stoped. so either my hood isnt tight or theres something hitting it. :-)
