my exhaust is making a wierd scquealing-screechin-boiling sound, mostly after i make my turn and press on the gas. after i make my turn, my 1st gear runs sluggish and i hear that noise. I have 2 options to get rid the noise, either let go the gas and step a lil harder back on it, o0o0r just ride the noise out (by the time im out 1st and into 2nd the noise goes away). i have an automatic tranny obx headers obx high flow cat and jdm full cat back exhaust. its kinda of embarrising, cuz i dont know if others outside the car can hear it, hope not, what do yall think it could be?

And its super annoying. Its not the stereo. Its been like that eversince I got it used, but now a year later, I am totally fed up with it. Anybody know what that is?
Ha ha. Im such an idiot. I took out glove box, started digging for blower motor (noise came from there). Took out air filter in there: it had pine needles on it). I cleaned it off, now there is no more whistling noise. Why didn't I do that earlier.
THANK YOU GUYS FOR POINTING ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!

Now I'm gonna preoccupy myself with figuring out a squeaky noise coming from what sounds like front right wheel. Possibly a wheel bearing.

Also, is this A/C compressor supposed to kick in and out all the time even if my A/C is on all the time ? And with an audible click? Is compressor gone bad cos it goes on and off all the time?

Yes the compressor does not run constantly with the ac on. However if it is clicking on and off every couple seconds that is NOT right.

Hello. After a normal successful launch (no clutch burn, yet I'm sure I loaded the drive train) I started to hear a grind/scraping noise that I am positive is coming from somewhere right by my right rear wheel. The noise goes faster as the car goes faster and is slower as the car loses speed. Wondering if its possible to be an axle issue or possibly a brake issue? My car is an IX with 34k miles on it. Not sure what it could be.

im thinking wheel bearing or it may even be a ball joint on the way out.
Hub Bearing pn: 513133
Ball joint lower pn: 10480373

these may or not be available but, they are on the autozone website.

So my cars front drivers side section is making a weird clicking noise from the tire area. Like if I had a nail stuck in the tire and you keep hearing it. Except I just got new tires and the noise is still there. And if I ease on the breaks it stops. With no breaks at al I can hear it. Any idea on what it is?

Clicking from the tire area usually indicates a worn CV joint that needs replacing

Alright, I drive an automatic 03 Lancer OZ and my driveway is at a pretty beefy angle. When I first begin to reverse up my drive way, there is like a clunking shifting sound that comes from what I believe is my passenger side axle/tire (something in that unit).

What would possibly make this sound? I did at one point have a very slow (10MPH) collision with a guard rail in the front passenger side, but I concluded it was completely body damage. It has been over a year since that collision.

Ok guys I have a strange noise, it's a hissing noise coming from where the pedals are, I've been Told it's the brake booster but when I get closer, I can hear it coming out of the hole where the steering column goes through the firewall, when i turn the wheel it gets quiet. Could it be a power steering issue ?

humming sound front end

Hey recently I've noticed a strange humming sound coming from the front wheels of my car (2003 Lancer ES), and it's especially pronounced when I turn my wheels. I'm thinking it may be my wheel bearings going. The cv joing normally would make a clicking sound I think. I'm not too sure. Any one experience the same problem and if so, how much am I looking at paying to get it fixed?
