Nope, I don't even know if any local dealerships are getting any, let alone one that they'd have available for test drives. I'm looking at different vehicles, of the M persuasion.

I knew you were a man of good taste...

- Honestly gents its hard to spend 40K on a focus when you can literally get a used GTR for 45.

- M's are awesome till they break
- AMG's are awesome till they break
- S4/5/6 are awesome till they break

I will take my testdrive when they do get a vehicle to test, the dealer here is already giving people the run around that they want to keep miles a low as possible. But unless im just totally blown away at the cars dynamics as it comes then its a pretty hard sell.

Its looking like you really really have to want it or want to get it first for bragging rights.

Used GTR for 45k hahahah, not that cheap yet, add another 10k at least.

I always love the "why get this brand new car when you can get this used car for..." arguments. Crack me up.

Hell you could actually get a used 996 Turbo for 35-40k. Why get this car when you get that car!

Internetz strikes again...

You can get a 996 non-turbo for less than 15... so whats your point?

Im not telling anyone how to spend their money and expect the same courtesy in return... the dealer auctions are a great resource for a used car.

I do not think its fair to respond in such a vapid fashion because you have all the money Donald trump.

My point is the point you where trying to make is ridiculous.

Your reply is almost as ridiculous. It's almost like your reply was aimed at what you where saying about how you could buy a GTR instead for the money. Pot meet kettle?

I wasn't telling anybody what to do and my post wasn't about my financial situation what so ever.

Stop being ridiculous. For the sake of the internetz.

P.S. I'm not sure vapid means what you think it means...

Given a 45K budget, what would you rather have? The Focus RS, the cheapest GTR you can find, or a 996 turbo plus $10k in the bank for mods?

How important is having 4 doors, a usable back seat, and an actual trunk in this comparison?

And you can't compare the auction price (which pretty much nobody will ever get) of an eight year old car with MSRP of a new one.

This guy is far from my favorite automotive journalist, he has a long history of being a Volkswagen apologist, but this is interesting that he says the Focus ST is substantially more fun.

Focus ST or Focus RS?

Comparing a brand new car to a used car is ridiculous. For the price of a new Evo 8 or 9, people could have bought a Miata shell and dropped a V8 into it. The product would walk circles around a stock Evo. Is it a fair comparison? Hell no.
