Focus RS
Tossing in the manual rack is for added feel. Those cars are so small, they do well without power steering. The feedback without it is the best of any car i've driven. As for lack of ABS and all the other stuff, that is also for fun. Not the fastest? Don't care. Nobody drives a Miata to be the fastest anyway LOL. It's 100% about the feel and enjoying the car. Then I hop into the Evo to go fast
No way did i see that comment coming LOL. If you consider the car's ECU a "nanny", then I can understand your post.
I assume you are being facetious, though, so :LOL: on me
Anyone ever try autox'ing in a car with all the gadgets on? I couldn't figure out what they car was gonna try to do next LOL. I definitely wasn't in control. Not a feeling I'm into but that's just me.

Therefor i do not have an opinion on how the "nannies" works there, neither in drag.

Werd. That's a trick from our Honda days. A bit troublesome in parking lots, though

yah i was just joking around. Computers and electronics are great, humans literally couldnt fly the fighter jets we make now, or travel into space without them. The problem is the electronic systems installed on most consumer vehicles are more programmed to keep things from breaking then pushing them to the limits. The thing is once you can get into those systems and make them work for you amazing things can happen. Just look at the Evo's stock ECU and what can be done with it once people got in there and started pushing the limits.
Back to your post: When it comes to engine management, heck yes. Carbs are the enemy haha. I just don't like anything that drives the car for me (a'la GTR). I am okay with ABS for safety and tire-saving reasons (though I have yet to have ABS kick on; I've come really close). I prefer mechanical parts because they are predictable and can be tuned relatively easy (I wouldn't know how to begin tuning my ACD). I know computers make cars silly fast. If I were all about winning championships and all-out fastest lap times, I'd have to give it up to PDK and all the other cool stuff. I just prefer a certain driving experience, so I'll be sticking with my ct9a for a long, long time (even with the acd
)
sorry they asked me to remove it. RS drifting .... lol
anyhow here is something else instead.

But, and this is a big but, the car still feels like it has a 60:40 weight distribution (and it does!!!). You can't hide form that when you are at the limit, no matter how trick the differential. Most corners feel the same (plus or minus), and it goes something like this: Understeer in. I then lift slightly to help rotate the car to the apex, and progressive throttle. By the apex I am on the power and the differential is pulling me around the corner. It does work as advertised. The understeer stops, and throttle/diff bends the car around the apex and into the desired line for corner exit. For the diff to work, you can't be on the edge of (losing) grip. That is why the really fast drivers say it feels like a FWD car all the time. 60:40 does that in corners. To make the diff do it's job, you need to slow down. Physics wins. This is not a 50:50 mid engined car, and a fancy drive train will not fix the weight distribution.
hopefully someone figures out the control unit for the RDU and can tune it to be useful for at the limit track driving... and cooling obviously
ps.
post isn't directed at kyoo, just quoting for link
I think part of the issue with the car not working well at the limit is probably alignment. You can see from his pics of the front tire that the front end needs at least another degree of negative camber. And I'm sure getting toe dialed in would help as well.
