What is a "proper Evo"? A stock Evo won't trap 130 mph in the 1/4 mile.
Guessing here, a "proper Evo" is full bolt-ons?

Well, money is money. Appears most still pissing themselves to get anywhere near sticker price on an RS. Even at sticker, still allows 6 grand in mods for EVO.

On the Evo. I've never seen this before. Do dealers now really advertise artificially low prices?

Dealers are around $33.5 for a final edition here.

Yeah, but usually no that blatant. This one might be closer to a real price..........
Point is, many RS's are going for closer to 40 than 30. Kind of like 8's where going
for upwards of 45 when they first came out.

One could argue you could spend the difference on the EVO and it still not might handle as good as the RS,
but hard to argue straight line speed when you get a 6-8 grand head start.............

I finally saw one in action by a legitimately good driver last week. gotta say, very impressed with the handling out the box, whereas the 8/9s need a lot of things fixed IMO

I paid $32k 13 months ago. I think they would hit $30k at least.

btw, most of the low priced Evo GSRs I've seen are Mercury grey/Silver.

A Focus RS placed fifth in AWD Limited @ GTA Super Lap Battle.
Not bad, IMO.

Mild stock block:
FP Green / HKS 7460 / BBk-Full stock block on pump will trap high teens, and on E85 low-mid 120's

Built street/track day:
2.3 w/Gtx3076/3576 or EFR7670/8374 will trap low-mid 120's on pump and push into 130 on E85.

Evo is for sure more than match for M3/M4 and GT3/996-997Turbo as "stock block steeet car as above" on as simple as set of Ohlins R&T

So not stock but near stock Evo it's brilliant.

Thankfully we continue to enjoy the brilliant Evo

till you put an E85 tune on the M3/M4 and GT3/996-997Turbo... well, 996 Turbo isn't doing anything too crazy on an E85 tune...

also, for most people, E85 isn't an option

out of how many? 5?

edit:
looked it up, out of 7. well technically 9, but 2 DNF's, I don't really count DNF's.
for those that didn't connect the dots, this is the same FoRS that Vorshlag tested and is developing parts on.
ran a 2:00.197. For those that have driven Buttonwillow, how's that time?

Unlimited RWD class efforts are kinda pathetic though... the top RWD time is slower than the top 3 FWD times...

To what Evo? You gotta compare like with like, stock vs. stock. By your logic, for the price of a new Evo, you could have a 1990 Miata with a full V8 swap and track-ready suspension that would destroy a stock Evo. Not a very fair comparison.

No, it's not. You're comparing a bone stock luxury car, to a hopped up Econobox with a bunch of money dumped into it. It's not an even remotely fair comparison. It's a plain ridiculous comparison, actually.
