These are blowing head gaskets stock. Lots of discussion on the RS forms about it.

Availability of the cars has also come up drastically, since the initial trickle out run method has ended, and most buyers in the market for them have already purchased. Last week there were 12 in greater metro Nashville area for sale at dealerships!

So it's a lucky dip with the Focus RS.
Wouldn't touch one.

Are people with stock RS' having issues with Ford covering repairs under warranty? If so, what is the basis for denying the warranty work?

Yes, stock, right down to the tires. Not sure what the basis is. I haven't asked.

Very dealer specific. Local ford dealer I use said they could not go 70 in a 65 to verify vibration I had (not an RS). New service manager said he came from Audi and used to have "kids" come in all the time complaining about problems @ 105. He would send one of the younger mechanics out to verify.

Everyone remember Mitsu with EVO's in the beginning. Plenty of claims of abuse when this advertised "road course car" was just driven spiritedly on the street.

I was reading one post where, after the engine started squirting coolant, Ford wanted the engine for investigation. They said they'd install a new engine whenever they came off of backorder - several weeks he thought. I guess these Ford owners are a little more low key than I am.

I like the concept of this car, too bad about that Ford quality though.

For Motortrend's big performance car test, the Camaro V6 1LE was 0.1 seconds behind the Focus RS.
