I think its worth looking at, what it take an hour of your time? You could get the owner to provide a carfax and get any body shop to check it for damage. Offer him $10K.

I doubt NC Miata and an s2k would be much different in a crash... hopefully I never find out

NC might be slightly better since it's a newer platform.

you right. i actually think between the two i would go with miata, simple reasoning is the plenty of parts available and tons of people on track with them. Not because its a better car or something.
You might even able to buy or swap parts during the race day etc. with a Miata.
I would think it would be a lot harder to do a same with the S2000.

yeah, flares look horrible, if I got the car they'd be replaced by something... but its 15k, looks like he started with 19 and updated the main price but not in the body of the ad.

things that are looking good to me are the JRZ's and the Cayman engine swap..

of course if this thing actually is 330whp, it totally goes against my "I don't want a fast car" thing...

I'd rather get a used FRS/BRZ and a SC and I hate FRS/BRZs

Those older boxsters are a bit of a pain to work on too as an FYI

btw, there is a local track guy selling a well set up supercharged E36 M3 in the very rare purple metallic color if you are interested...

FRS/BRZ was on my list, but they have issues with DI injector seals. there's no way to know if you have a car thats affected or not till its too late, there's also no fix, you can just replace the seals with the same seals... thats not a gamble I'm willing to take for a track car

overall E36 is a bit older than what I want, but if its done well I may consider it... I'll take a look at that build thread. do you know how much he's asking for it?

A E36 M3 is older than you want but you are looking at a 2001 Porsche?

Take a look at the build thread, it's very well sorted.

Here is his post from the FB group I'm on:

"Hey folks --
Putting out feelers on my E36 M3. The car is a total unicorn; technoviolet over grey alcantara with the full Dinan Stage 3 treatment (supercharger, suspension, interior upgrades, etc.). It's get ~92k miles on it, a ton of recent service, and is a _perfect_ car for daily driving and the occasional track day.

The mechanicals are a 10/10, interior is a 8/10, and the exterior is 6/10 (some paint fading, rock chips, and minor dings). You can see full details on the build here: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=505560
Taking offers over $12k."

I've heard that too but I would never know judging from the amount of those little things I see every track event.

How many people actually have that problem?
