I'd be all over a $17k IX SE. But didn't you get out of the Evo game?

So, a Z with a bbk, etc is still cheaper than the Honda? Just how cheap are the Zs??

On the Evo, ask who did the work, and why. Most guys don't port the head on the stock engine unless they took it off because they blew the head gasket. Being tuned by English Racing is good, their tunes are solid. Hopefully they did the work too.

I kinda got out of the Evo game cause of the prices people were wanting for run down evo's, but this one looks nice, and the price is great. Gotta go check it out in person and see if it looks as nice as it does on CL

naw, the bbk would put it over. but its not a required mod like it is on the s2k, stock they crack rotors with track use. while rotors are cheap I don't wanna deal with replacing them ever couple track days. and if I get a Z with brembo's I can get some of my money back on on the bbk with selling those. although I'm prolly not getting a brembo one with my the price I'm looking at spending on a Z

well to be honest I'll be aiming for 15, but I want a PPI so on the spot won't exactly work

$2k off a $17k asking price would require some pretty shrewd negotiating. If the SE BBS wheels are in good condition you could sell them easy enough. Probably want something wider for track duty anyways.

I'm not saying I won't pay over 15, just saying I'll be aiming for that, we'll see where I land

I have RPF1 17x9 +35 sitting in my garage left over from my rsx...

Do those fit an Evo 8/9? I thought there was some fitment issue which led most people to run 8.5" RPF1's on the 8/9.

from the forum research I did, that size with some 255's are the biggest you can fit without rolling/cutting fenders... but being internet research and all I'm prepared to do some fender rolling. although I have 235's on there right now

Depending on how low your suspension is, you may end up needing to roll the rears to fit 255's. Also, make sure you heat the paint when rolling.

You can also get them professionally shaved and painted by a body shop. I hated how my rolled fenders collected all manner of mud and gunk.

I'm not a fan of slammed cars, so I won't be lowering it much, just a tad to close the fender gap a bit. I like a 1-1.5 finger gap left typically

Have you though about what you are going to do suspension wise?

Imo, the best budget solution is find a used set of MR Bilsteins and have them rebuilt&revalved with GTWorx springs by these guys http://fatcatmotorsports.com/

naw, I'll be going coilovers. Ohlins if I'm feeling rich, FA510 if I'm feeling stingy...

GTWorx springs are great (had a set on my Evo X), but for regular track use I'll want stiffer springs.

i run a 17x9.5 +38, so i gotta think the 17x9 +35 should be fine. It's only about 6mm narrower on each side, but offset 3mm more, which pretty much zeros out the inside.

Get the Ohlins, run the 10K spring up front, and pick up some Hyperco 650 lb/in (11.6kg/mm) springs for the rear http://www.vorshlag.com/product_info...roducts_id=184

MAP has the Ohlins for less than $2400 shipped last time I checked.
