Even though I agree with the sentiment behind this post, this part just made me laugh... A 1LE F-body can hold its own in the handling department, even though it still doesn't handle as well as an Evo, and is most decidely faster in a straight line, whether it's from a dig or a roll. Good points, though, in the rest of the post.

People seem to be getting all worked up because their rally car isn't as fast as a straight line car (although Neons can handle extremely well, especially the higher end sportier Neons, and are very potent auto-x cars) in a straight line under some conditions. Stock for stock, the Evo should be faster in the 1/4 mile than the SRT-4, though not by much. Once that clutch starts slipping from all those drag starts, it's all downhill for the Evo, while the SRT-4 will be able to run its low 14/high 13 times for years without any engine or drivetrain issues, if the drivetrain is as reliable as it seems to be after only a few months. Put them both on a rally course, however, and the Evo will give the SRT-4 the owning of its life for as many runs as the SRT can handle. Both cars were made for different purposes, and both do what they were made to do exceedingly well for the price that they're sold for. Just accept this and move on, there's no need to have hundred post threads on a subject that's as easily summed up as this.

As for the video, there's no way that the SRT4 pulled away from the Evo that fast unless it's deep in to the 12s in the 1320 if the Evo was broken in, had a good driver, and was going all out. The two cars are pretty evenly matched, the difference should be a few car lengths at the end rather than how it was.

Cool SRT-4 + BIG turbo = 406 hp / 393 tq @ the wheels!

www.psifimotorsports.com

357.1 hp / 353.7 tq *19 psi, 93 octane*

406.7 hp / 393.9 tq *23 psi, 103 octane*

Specs:

2003 Dodge SRT-4
Mopar Stage 1 ecu and injectors
Mopar 2.5" cat-back exhaust
Psi-Fi Turbo kit (Innovative T3/T40e turbo & Wastegate, custom manifold, custom downpipe)
Psi-Fi Power Paq piggy back w/3 bar map sensor
Psi-Fi Rising Rate Fuel System (custom lines, Walbro 255 pump)
Psi-Fi Cold Air Intake
Psi-Fi Dogbone Motor Mounts
Turbo XS BOV
Turbo XS HPMC

Still in the tuning process. You'll notice that they made this power with a VERY restricitve 2.5" exahust. Imagine when they install their 3" turbo back. Their goal is 500 hp! No 1/4 mile slips yet because they snapped an axle on the first launch. They had to get a custom set of axles from the driveshaft shop made for the massive power.

Lots more good things to come from these guys. They are definitely unlocking the true performance capabilities of the srt.

Since the kit is still in the development stage, their target price for a complete kit is $3500 or under. This includes preset maps in the piggy back to keep driveability exactly like stock (which they have accomplished on their test car) and everything needed to for a bolt-on affair. They want to keep it very simple and easy which is something I think is great.

No, I wish. The kit isn't out yet. It's still in the prototype stages. But so far so good.
