well in my opinion horsepower isnt everything. test drive them and see how they feel and handle.
i was thinking about the srt4, but if i trade my lancer i would want something other than FWD.
The mustang is cool, but damn so many people have one around here, theyre almost as popular as civics. I do occasionally see some nice saleen and roush
the evo is something i am loking forward to getting, but i really dont like everyone complaining about the serive and quality of the car. i was also looking at the sti, but damn that interior makes me sick.
its really a tough decision, but i think i would settle on an evo. i dont like larger engines either as much as smaller ones.
choice is yours, but everyc ar has its strong point

think about it. single turbo front wheel drive or twin turbo and rear wheel drive? you could have a lot more fun with rear wheel and not have to worry about torque steer. my vote is the rx-7 all the way
The mach-1 does not have brembo brakes. It has brembo front rotors(BFD). It handles like a pig. This is coming from a ex- 450 HP mustang owner. I know Fox bodies in and out. In my opinion, the EVO is the best all around ride for the money by a mile. For what it's worth, I invested a good 5 grand into my Stang's suspension and it still does not handle half as good as my EVO does stock.
Happy car shoping.
On a side note, I think your choices are pretty far apart given the examples you presented for your next possible car. It sounds like you should think about it for a while.
And for for the love of God, don't buy any car just because a bunch of people on her think you should. Go with your gut in your decision and you can't go wrong!

they ran a 13.9 on an 04. I dont know enough about an RX-7 to say....all in all would probably be a good race with the numbers being so close...
Tough one. I wanted to recommend the Z06, but then I remember the kid and the room necessary.
If you are a straight line purely kinda person, then the Evo is probably the wrong car for you. It can do very well in a straight line, but the Mach 1 is probably a better bet for you.
If you don't plan to upgrade too much and want decent handling as well as good power out of the showroom, the STI is not a bad choice either.

definately the Evo. SRT-4's only run 14's, by the way. then again, they do have the factory upgrades.

13.9 on a stock 04....courtesy of car and driver...
I have never driven an Evo before, I love my SRT-4. Yes, its FWD, but I love it and its very fast.....
I have seen an evo, and im not much for the body of the evo for the most part. But, they have mad power...
test drive em and see what you like! its a preference thing. Every car has its good/bad.....its up to you to weigh out the differences...
Dude drive teh evo, and take an exit ramp market for 25MPH at 110. Then you will see that it can handle any and all the power it has. 4 doors, is well suited for a car seat.
Mustang is based on a FORD FAIRLANE, oldschool design with **** poor fit and finish, Great motor, but cannot get the power to the ground no can it handle any series of turns.
The Neon is a great car, but FF, and will never be able to handle the power you want to make, but can be fast from a roll, but does not and will not come close to the handling of the Evo, nor the build quality, which is quite sad.
RSX with a supercharger? Now your kidding, you would have to rebuil;d that block and run 20PSI just to make 300WHP, evo does that easilly.

I will admit, there are some things that arent great about the SRT-4, and I own one.....but they have nothing to do with build quality...im just curious to what information you have...thanks...
I would also go with a used 03 Cobra before the Mach 1. Cobra is a much better car IMO and with a few bucks can be a beast. The SRT4 is great for the money if that is a factor. Its $10K less you can spend in other places and have a fun car.
The Evo is a different car. The AWD is great for all weather and heck it has three babyseat hooks in the back

THE EVO IS THE BEST CAR FOR 30K
AN SRT -4 IS A BROADS CAR SLOW PIG AND WHEN U GO TO SELL IT ANT WORTH CRAP,A MACH 1 IS JUNK YOUR COULD HAVE 14 DISK THAT CAR STILL SUCK'S AND ANT RUNNING NO 12'S IF I HAD DO DO IT OVER AGAIN I WOULD BUY A 2003 COBRA THAT HOLDS 800 HP ON A STOCK BLOCK
