Taking both cars in regards to what they are meant for, the Civic is far more versatile. Just about as fast, four doors, better MPG... Also the benefits of: cheaper to purchase, cheaper insurance, cheaper aftermarket, etc, etc
I bet the Civic could match the Supra's lap times if they both had the same transmission.

It's gotta be comfy for the masses.

Road and Track tested the Supra in this month's issue. 0-60 3.8 seconds; 1/4 mile 12.3 seconds @ 113.0 MPH, 1.07 G skid pad on Michelin Super Sports.

They did say the steering had the typical BMW numbness.

Not bad. Not bad. If I had a choice between this and corvette, I still don't know which is pick. I still don't feel a corvette is for me, unless it were the only car I owned and I was after all-out lap times.
I think I'd be happier in the Supra.
All that being said, I'm still mostly leaning toward spending the same amount on a 7yr old GTR.
Mostly for personal reasons, though.
I don't think I've ever made a rational decision when it comes to buying cars LOL

I'd def spend $60k on a 2012 GTR before I bought a C8 or a supra.

The next performance car I buy that isnt for the wife *cough*tesla*cough* will be RWD. Ive driven AWD for so dang long now that Im looking for something more engaging. GTR can be crazy just like the Evo is raw, but its still basically easy mode driving at the limit.

I honestly want something like a BRZ with boost. But Id prefer it to come from the factory that way for classing purposes. New poopra is still on the wrong side of 3000lbs.

brz's have horrible engines tho... even with boost, I mean they get faster, but the engine still feels like it has asthma. it feels like it should be a generator engine that just runs at a set rpm cause that thing absolutely haves to rev.

I dont disagree with that, but the balance of the car is pretty good. They just dance around and handle really nice. Every time I hope in an STX prepped car I just feel at home in it but want about 50-100hp more. So I always thought just a basic SC could make it a really fun all around car.

Spent a good bit of time in a boosted BRZ on Sunday since my evo decided to break again on Sat. No boost they handle well like a Miata but lack *****(also like a Miata) However the BRZ with a turbo was pretty fun, there is no denying that. Would I buy one however? NOPE, that motor cant be trusted! I still think my next car will be RWD and I can't come up with anything that makes more sense than a C5Z.

Did anyone watch this video yet?

Looks terrible to work on but some really interesting tech. It appears to be stout enough to hold a good bit of power. Also, I found it interesting the section about the valvetrain. Their rockers have a lil clip built into them to help keep them from being flung at high RPMs. I didn't realize that was really a thing but I flung a rocker with my car on Sat so I found it funny that was mentioned in the video.

Whats everyone's thought on the integrated exhaust manifold? If it can't flow enough for 1000hp, there is another head from another B58 engine that doesn't have the integrated exhaust manifold. Seems like we will see 1000hp before the end of the year.

It seems like if you want RWD and turbo from the factory, then you might be better off with a P-car. The current 911 carrara's are close to 3000lbs and manual. There is a lotus model that is supercharged, they were cheap some years ago.

compared to an NC Miata, the BRZ is slower up to about 80 thanks to the NC's short gearing and no torque dip, and the BRZ is faster after about 80 thanks to more power in the last 1-1500 rpm and better aero. NC is also narrower... NC is a better autox car but the BRZ is a better track car. for lap times anyway... I like driving the NC more.

My Evo is as engaging as I need. The GTR will be my cruise/fun/out to dinner/"to the track if I don't feel like loading up the Evo" car. It checks all *my* boxes for a fun daily. I also have a Civic that gets 42mpg so longer road trips are no concern, either.
Plus I finally get to own a GTR without paying $20k for a 25yo rust bucket.

I have no doubt. It's only a matter of time some American ****s up the car by making it a 1000hp dyno queen/drag/half mile car.
World's best handling car? Drag race it!
World's best MPG car? Drag race it!
Electric car? Drag race it!
AWD rally car? Let's take away that silly, all-around performance and..... DRAG RACE IT!
