New Supra Specs and Pricing
The wife dailys that car for now. I take it out from time to time though and once "by accident" on the track.

Otherwise I suspect the older r35s will feel archaic compared to these newer chassis. Even if it's numbers are better.
LOL! See my thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/lo...rformance.html

I'm really looking forward to adding a new dynamic to driving at our house. We have the Evo for being hardcore track, Touareg for utility, RV for travel and getting out of the house. Wifer loves the SQ5 also but at the end of the day its just another SUV we don't need and the Tesla lets us have something new and interesting. The response is hard to ignore with electric especially coming from 20 years of turbo lag.
I may build something V8 swapped for a screwing around car just to fully round out what we have and offset the Tesla so people aren't fully thinking I'm just an environmentalist
Papadakis Racing tore down the engine if you guys are curious.

Nice, good details there. Its definitely the wife getting it and matches what she likes to drive quite a bit. I want more raw than the Evo but she loves the Evo on course (autoX) and doesn't want anything more difficult. I think the Evo is easy mode but cant deny its fast.

My buddy says he has more fun trying to hyper mile and make stop lights without braking than he does with the acceleration. He said even he was over it in a day.
Spent a good bit of time in a boosted BRZ on Sunday since my evo decided to break again on Sat. No boost they handle well like a Miata but lack *****(also like a Miata) However the BRZ with a turbo was pretty fun, there is no denying that. Would I buy one however? NOPE, that motor cant be trusted! I still think my next car will be RWD and I can't come up with anything that makes more sense than a C5Z.
Did anyone watch this video yet?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MckxlP60cnY
Looks terrible to work on but some really interesting tech. It appears to be stout enough to hold a good bit of power. Also, I found it interesting the section about the valvetrain. Their rockers have a lil clip built into them to help keep them from being flung at high RPMs. I didn't realize that was really a thing but I flung a rocker with my car on Sat so I found it funny that was mentioned in the video.

I, too, found the timing thing odd. I seriously doubt a timing chain replacement can be done with the engine in. Looks like the engine sits pretty far back.
Agreed. I was a little concerned about the casting of the cylinder head. It doesn't look like there is much space to install high duration cams and I didn't expect them to use a roller/rocker style setup as I thought they would go with flat tappet. I'm interested to see how the new intake cam features work together and sure hope that the closed deck aluminum block wouldn't need to be sleeved to break 600whp.
A lot of modern engines have the rear timing chain set up. I don't really understand the purpose. And I've looked around, there aren't really any white papers on the purpose it serves. Seems pretty silly..

Usually its a lazy way of updating an engine to accept overhead cams or cam phasers. Placing the chain case at the front would require redesign of accessory mounting.
