Mk V Supra - My Evo's Replacement?
I also have a set of 275 NT01's from my Evo but they are date stamped 2017 so probably not a wise idea to go on track with them anymore. :P
Yea, I was going to go 285 or 295 but these are almost $100 cheaper than other 200TW's like RT660's, etc so I figured I would try them out.

I get it. I had a set of older NT01's on the Evo before this set and the car was kinda all over the place but manageable because of AWD.
I just don't want the first time I get on track in a torquey RWD car to be on old *** tires. I'll throw them on the Evo and just be an ahole on the street instead. :P

I don't have the cash for a supra, so I'm doubling down on my Evo X by taking it to its final "evolution".
I'm going to live vicariously through this thread, because I had already stared long and hard at this car on the dealer floor (while shopping HYBRID SUVs for my wife
I trust the feedback and information I would learn from the lot of you guys than ANYONE ELSE. One day perhaps I'll pick one of these up, and I can reference this thread on what order of business needs to be addressed with the platform!

I just tested the durometer across all my tires. I took readings across the face (3 readings per tire)
Used NT01 (three track days). Been sitting for 3 years off the car in temp controlled room at approx 60*. 2017 stamp on the tire
65 +/- 3
Brand new unused Kumho V730. Sitting in the same room as the NT01s above
70 +/- 3
Federal Evoluzion st-1. Currently on my Evo. Sitting in the garage approx 54*
68 +/- 3
Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Currently on the Supra. They have been on the car since new in 2019.
75 +/- 3
Kuhmo Winter tires for the alltrack. Sitting in the same room as the NT01 and V730s. Unused.
62 +/- 3
So the NT01's still seem pretty good. Would be interesting to see what unused brand new NT01s durometer at.

Just went through this myself. Hybrid doesn't have to be bad though...it depends on the type of system. PHEV's like the Rav 4 prime and the BMW X5 Xdrive45E are actually faster than their ICE counterparts thanks to the addition of the electric motors. Sprinkle in all the government helicopter money, and they can actually be cheaper. They really want to move these things, unlike every other kind of car that is marked up to the sky, we got the X5 at 12k below sticker (all EV rebates/incentives included) about 4 months ago. Because it can do X amount of miles on pure electric it is considered a full EV. This has benefits like getting single occupant carpool lane stickers, cheaper rates from the power company etc.
We ended up getting a KIA Sorrento Hybrid EX. What pushed me to it, is that I was trading in a Sportage EX that I had for TEN years and 100kmi and all I spent on it for non-wear parts added up to $140 bucks. The cost of ownership was stupid low. KIA warrantied the entire electric and battery system for the Sorrento, and Toyota wanted $2400 as an add on to do that. Furthermore, the KIA used a lithium battery back and the Toyota was in the stone age with a nickle-metal hydride battery ! The KIA also did the system completely different which I liked, they basically have clutch packs connecting where the torque converter would be, and the torque converter is an electric motor. So at any time it can clutch the gas engine to charge the battery and NOT run the wheels, or it can clutch and run the wheels and not use the electric at all, or it can declutch and shutdown the gas engine and the electric then runs the 6 speed transmission. The end result is 3rd row seating and a ton of room but we are averaging 37mpg. The only thing I had to do, was replace the lame *** 17" "hybrid" wheels with black OEM 19" KIA wheels from the previous year. The vehicle is white, so with the black wheels it looks good.
As for your comment about performance... in sport mode it runs the electric on top of the gas at 100% and she does get up and move for the weight. Because ours is not a "plug in", we didn't get any rebates
We did look at the RAV Prime, but determined it to be too small.

Sorry to change the subject off hybrid suvs.... but I had a fun run in Mexico tonight. New m4 (99% sure it was stock). 50-150mph. He got the jump and I held him to a car ahead of me to 150. I would say not bad for a downpipe and some fake boost. I had no idea I was going so fast until I looked down. Lady friend in the passengers seat loved it haha. This car scoots now.
