It's cool. But we all know how 50/50 reliability is LOL. I had a GREAT time winding out all day yesterday. But... I'd probably be okay with a different engine if it had improved reliability, which was the point, I assume.

I think the drivers are like + or - 2 full seconds with Lightning Lap, not to mention that it's not the same track 6 years later.
Yea there is that too. I believe I mentioned this earlier in this thread, I don't put a ton of weight into Lightning Lap but it's still fun to look at the results. A good example is that it's easily seen that VIR is a big time horsepower track, espically since they run the Grand Course which is 4.20 miles long. Perfect example is the AMG GT Black series sweeping up this year with 720 hp and factory aero.
At Thunderhill, there was a large difference in the higher horsepower cars when we would do the 5 mile compared to the 2.9 mile. So many more opportunities for the big boys to stretch their legs.
Moving from Pilot Super Sports to the Cup 2's will easily create that 0.4 sec difference.
PSS's are such crap on track
Weird, but in every exotics group I'm in, they all swear PSSs are god's gift to tires. When I suggest any other tire, I can feel them glaring at me through their web cams.

PSS are great for driving on the street to the country club or cars and coffee.
Same thing in the supra groups. Ton of people think they are great.
good thing in my book, more reliable and in my opinion the voodoo engine sounds like sh*t

careful, don't let any car journalists hear you say that. Cup2's aren't that great either, take forever to warm up and then only last a lap, maybe 2 if you're on a track with long straights. its engineered to set a record time at the Nurburgring so that's as long as it lasts.

see above, exotics guys usually listen to car journalists... who only drive oem cars, which typically only come with PSS/PS4S or Cup2's

I don't even like to for street driving... I mean its fine, but it seams like a waste of money. there are tires that perform about the same for a lot less money and is more than anyone will need on the street. I'd rather put that money towards more track tires.
Saw this guy out on track yesterday. Times aren't posted, so not sure how well he did. With all that going on, it's gotta be fast. Looks like a McLaren and a handful of GT3/GT3RSs were fastest of the day. I knew I shoulda' held out for the P-car
Then there was this GT2RS. I haven't seen his lap time, but probably right up there also.

Did you take the Stang out on the track or just watching?

Oh, yeah. I'm a spoiled brat. I don't go to a track day unless I get to drive So. The Supra matched my Evo. Not bad. The mustang did pretty well, considering I only got in 12 laps. My fastest lap had no traffic but... well, you'll see. I was so close to a half-way-decent one This was my first time giving the car the beans. I didn't quite figure out tire pressures, though wear was nice and even. The car sounds so much nicer than the John Deer... er... Evo. Since the car didn't come with the OEM camber plates, I tossed on some Vorshlags and Good Year Supercar 3 Rs. I can't wait to get comfortable enough to get a flyer in. The car feels SO much more stable than the Evo. I guess being two tons and over six feet wide will have that effect.
