Anyone gotten an STU-legal reflash? If so, who did it and what did it buy you?

Silencer and myself have Xede's from Vishnu. I know others that are interested in STU flashes also.

What kind of numbers are you making with the Xede on your 2003? I'm just curious to compare to my 2003 with SP prep (Dynoflash though).

I'm going to use ECUflash on mine and look at an agressive MIVEC map(starting with the JDM RS MIVEC maps) and JDM like fuel/timing. There are some good threads in the ECUflash forums. It also looks like GT100 is VERY good to tune with. I may end up having traction issues with AWD!

My car made 267hp on a dynojet on 96ish oct. It was 105°in the dyno room though.

I believe Navid made around 280hp on a dynodynamics dyno in BSP trim. He had the bigger '05 turbo, test pipe and header.

ok, so my car is in the ballpark, being an 03. On a dynojet my 03 made 298 hp/320tq at about 21psi w/high flow cat. A recent dyno day on a DD dyno mine put down 260hp/265tq now with test pipe and megan manifold and a decent boost leak at the LICP, I also suspect boost was down a lb or two. Both times it was probably around 65-70 deg outside.

Seems to be the 05 turbo makes a good difference, then the Mivec + better turbo is a very significant gain. Both in low end tq and top end hp. I just ordered the Innovate bundle with LC-1 and Logworks/tactrix cable so I'll be doing a little testing to find which parts help/hurt spool to try and get the most out of the little 9.8 turbo. I'm not so concerned so much with top end, but if I can get moving quicker I'll be happy-er.

I believe Dieman's car made something like 290ish WHP on a Mustang dyno on his STU prepped EVO 9 with the stock cat still in place. But different dynos different #s. I would really like to see an STU prepped EVO8 and 9 with identical mods on a dyno and take a note of the difference in power. I'm hoping it won't be much because boost can't be raised/manipulated, obviously the EVO9 will have a quicker on set of power in the low rpms.

I'll have my exhaust bits on in the next 3 weeks or so and then I'll be heading to CBRD to get on his dyno. I'll be trying the JDM RS MIVEC maps and some "enhanced" MIVEC maps with the JDM Evo air/fuel/timing maps as well and tune with the "best-of" and see what we come up with.

I may be off-base here...but don't the japanese have higher octane fuel at their pumps and shouldn't these maps be adjusted accordingly? I know you mentioned running some 100 octane, but you're gonna be swapping maps and running race gas all the time or do you just plan to run the 100 oct for big events?

We made 267 on a very low reading mustang dyno here in town. The car trapped 109 in the quarter by the end of the year and my old 305 horsepower STi could only trap 106. I did however just finish tuning a fully prepped STU car yesterday that made over 300 to the tire on that same dyno. That car had EVERYTHING done to it power wise that was legal for class though compared to mine from last year which still had the stock cat. Thank god that car is only going to see STUL!!!

You are correct to state that the JDM maps have higher octane maps. We're going to start with them and tweak them up or down depending on how the car reacts with 93 octane. Then we'll use them as a base to tune for 100 octane. I will be switching maps at events to talk advantage of the 100 octane settings.

Thanks for the correction. That is a lot for an STU *cough* EVO *cough*, are you sure you didn't mess with boost . I see your mom is going to run STU now how come not B-Stock this year?

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure Japan has 98 RON (research octane number) gas, which is equivalent to 93 (R+M)/2 (average of RON and MON (motor octane number)).
