They sell Sunoco Race fuel at pumps at the track. I believe they had 100 unleaded and 110 leaded. It will most likely be more expensive there than if you sourced it locally and brought it with you. HPT likes to rape people on prices for EVERYTHING.

yah i was going to ask you about the tune situation what are you going to do about that, an email flash or something or are you going to try to get retuned on a dyno at that elevation? maybe pm me with some possible solutions.

i think that warrtalon is refering to the magnesium te-37's which are lighter than the ce28's and the re30's or maybe i am wrong

Nah, an base flash would not be the way to go, and I don't need a dyno to retune. I can retune myself or maybe someone else in attendance who is good...

The Mag TE-37's are what, $2000 per rim?? For that price you could have a set of Dymag carbon fiber wheels built. (although they are not legal for SCCA Solo2, already looked into it!)

I use Evoscan, and I have my AEM wideband routed to a serial connector in the ash tray compartment, which lets me hook it up to my laptop in order to feed the wideband signal to Evoscan.

holy stalled airfoil batman!

Also, I highly doubt that that wing has a Cl of 2.6 to generate the 200lbs@60mph that you claim (even in free stream). My guess is you're using CFD to get that number and your program doesn't tell you when the airfoil stalls. A more realistic number would be in the 150lb@60mph range for a single element airfoil in free stream. On the car would probably be at or less then 100 lbs. Still VERY noticible.

The endplates are nice though. Are they smaller then 200 sq. in?

Have you seen the wings the SM and SM2 cars were running last year? They were much more highly cambered and sharper angle of attack than this thing. What factors leads you to believe that it is stalled at ~60mph?

http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/K-12/airplane/foil2.html

That is the program I used to calulate approximate downforce based on size and shape of the airfoil. The Cl is quite a bit higher than 2.6 if I remember correctly. . . for example @150mph it would make a calculated 1600# of downforce (but by that point would surely be in stall)

There are going to be multiple angles of attack to choose from based on inteded use (autocross, road racing, etc.)

The "end plates" are about 8"x14" ( the rectangular section perpendicular to the wing element. I don't believe the angled section of the mounting bracketry would be included in "end plate" calculations?

Jarrod, you gonna make it out to the romulus pro in a few weeks? Hopefully I get my car back together in time, and then we can do a test of aero vs. no aero. lol.
I still got nothin.

Ha Ha!! I'll trade you some aero for some HP! It will be more like the HP vs. Aero showdown!! We're still running stock boost and pump gas.

I really hope we can make it. We are registered, but the hotel situation is throwing a wrench in things. From what I hear the closest place is like an hour away and fairly expensive. We'll see - it's still possible that we'll make it, but it is looking like a very expensive weekend.

I am really interested in comparing our times with the Newman XP Porche that will be in Milwaukee this coming weekend. Looks like he's been doing pretty well so far this year in XP.

Jarrod, you may want to add the horsepower now as it will make the car entirely different handling wise. You don't want to wait until just before nationals to do it. I have run 3 events now, and am still changing the chassis setup to take advantage of the increase in power.

Trust me, it's not by choice. We keep waiting on Andy's tuner to come out to this side of the country to do the car. Been waiting for months. All I keep hearing is "2 more weeks".

If things don't happen soon, we will be using "my" tuner.

I know the car will handle much different with the increased power. I bet we will start having corner exit wheelspin issues with about 30-50 more HP than where we are at now. I bet we will have to look into different diffs or make some tweeks to the suspension setup. Let me know how you like the new trans. Last year I found I ran out of 2nd gear too quickly revving to 8000rpms. I knew that I had to do something - either gears, taller tires, or a built motor that could go to 9000rpms. I still haven't decided what to do. Probably the cheapest thing will be to try out a set of 295/30/18's to effectively do the same thing as a taller final drive gear. I bet with a hammer and prybar I can get them to fit!!
