Good reading
Ugh. Looks like i jinxed myself. Well, my OZ was deemed totaled by the insurance company after multiple electrical problems ( it was stolen Nov 9 but recovered Nov 24 ) so it looks like i'm making an early jump to AS.

One thing i was reading thru this thread - is a TBE not legal ? Sounds a bit odd that a cat delete or a HFC is ( from what it looks like to me ).

Any wheel of diameter and width identical to a stock or factory optional wheel, offset within +- 0.25 inch
Most street legal tires that will fit the mounted wheels and stock bodywork

Any brake linings; pre-1992 cars may use solid/braided metal brake lines.
Any front anti-roll bar (no change to stock/optional rear anti-roll bar, if present)

Over the last couple of days I've read over this thread. I was wondering if anyone had purchased, or used the 27 mm front sway bar from Do-Luck? Also, is it still accepted that 2 degrees camber up front and 0 toe, with between 1.0 to 1.5 degrees rear camber and 1/16 toe out in the rear, for alignment ? Right now, I only have my Swift spec-R springs in. (please don't mistake my (springs only) mod as an inexperienced driver qualification, as I kart often.) I am getting my alignment dialed in on Tuesday, so any advice will be appreciated . Thank you.

^this is the Astock thread... so I am not sure you are aware the springs do bump you up to STU or BSP depending.
however those alignment specs are good and currently what I run in Astock.
Car seems pretty neutral and responsive to throttle imputs.
You did pick some pretty good springs however.
Good luck to ya!

As bchappy said aftermarket springs are not legal in AS. Springs/coilovers = STU ...

Does anyone have experience running 275/40/17 V710s on a stock Evo? Do they rub?

Yes. They rub a lot on the front struts. You can get away with it by running a 1/4" spacer, or by utilizing the +/- 0.25" allowance on wheel offset.

1/4" spacer is 6.35mm. Would a 5mm do the job or would it still rub? I ask because I have a 5mm spacer set sitting at home. Where would I get a 1/4" spacer?

I used a 5 mm spacer on the fronts only and had no problems. Don't use them on the back, as the wheels will rub the fender lips.

The increased track in the front seems to help understeer, as well.

Cool. Just what I wanted to hear. Now to go drop $1k on tires

I was thinking the same.

Even utilizing the max offset allowance, you will still rub a little on the inner fender liner in the front - at least I do. I've also done little lightening of the front end by dragging the MR underlip spoiler diving into corners. I'm trying the 'kooks this season as they are just a little less wide and should spin a little easier off the line.
