In the wake of the close call Alonso had, there has been discussion about having closed cockpits to make the car safer. Personally, I would hate that. Both Jenson Button and Christian Horner have spoken out against the idea.

And get this, Crash-bay feels that the penalty on Grosjean was not harsh enough. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/19512281

Well, it appears to B a fine balance between reducing tire wear and speed. Brawn recently has attributed their lack lustster performance to altering the car to achieve better tire wear at the expense of speed because earlier in many races they were going threw tires very quickly and loosing in the pits/tire changes. Apparently they have gone back now to earlier config.'s so they may do better in Qualy but in the race, tire wear may again raise its ugly head unless , of course, they have figured out the balance point.

What happened to Alonso? He was first in Q1 and looked good in Q2. Then, 10th on the grid for Q3? At least Massa did a superb job of qualifying behind the two McLarens. Speaking of which, Lewis and Jensen looked superb. Maybe McLaren has turned the corner and will be contenders the rest of the season. Now if the two McLaren boys can finish one-two and Seb in third, the points gap should begin to drop. And, I wouldn't shed a tear if Alonso dropped out with engine problems. LOL

Edit: I just read that Alonso's rear sway bar was broken, hence his poor grid position. I have a feeling he is going to be a holy terror come race day. A Ferrari at Monza with thousands of screaming Italian fans seems to superenergize Ferrari drivers.

Alonso had the fastest car, even if he has to start 10th he's still gonna come to the front. I doubt he'll be able to pull off a nguyen, but he should still make the podium.

Whats up with the guys all looking so dejected in the post-quali pictures?

The guys at Speed were wondering the same thing. I listened to the post qualifying interview and nothing was said. Maybe they were all told behind the scenes that if Alonso does not win tomorrow, Scuderia Ferrari will tell all the fans to come ransack any driver who finishes ahead of him. LOL

Man, I'm wondering if Massa is going to cause a crash with hamilton on that start. Its a nice sprint to the first turn and the ferrari could very well get right on hamilton and do something crazy.

Seriously what does Massa have to lose? And he'll help his team mate because I know Alonso was about to squeeze out a 1.23.999 or better before he had his roll bar malfunction.

Just a thought. Its going to be an exciting race.

If he's going to take out anyone, common sense would say he would take out the driver who is 2nd in points race. That would be Vettel not Hami .... just sayin'

I watched my first F1 race a few weeks ago start to finish and actually liked it more than I thought. The only driver that I know of and would root for is the Raikonen (sp?) guy. He just shows no emotion like it's all childs play.

Awesome race. Hami wins again!!!
Headlines, "Beautiful car beats all ugly cars!". Awesome simply awesome
Too bad Button had mechanical problems it would have been awesome to see McLaren go 1 & 2 and catch up to RedBull in the constructors standings. Though the margin has narrowed some.

Watching Vettel push Alonso off track and get the drive through was a breath of fresh air. Finally the stewards are doing their job. Swift and decisive actions, good for them.

Double DNFs for RedBull! It'll make the constructor's fight more interesting. Yay!

Watching Sergio and Sauber pass the Ferraris for 2nd place was amazing. As David Hobbs would say "Poor ol' Alonso and Massa were chop liver!". I was laughing the entire time. Awesome tire strategy by Sauber. I wonder how it felt for Ferrari to see a customer car pass the factory car Kinda like how Lotus/Renault feels watching RedBull for the last few seasons.

What are all the Sauber naysayers are going to be saying now?

Funny how many less incidents there are when Crash-jean isn't in the race and Crash-donaldo has to start from the back.

Plenty of great fights and a very good race.

As Bum Philips said some years ago," We first knock on the door and then we will kick it down!"...Perez on hard for long, long first stint, then medium for 2nd was key...only 26 pts from Merc....its happening and as Hans Gruber said (Die Hard), "You will be witnesses"
