My buddies 2022 Tacoma is slow without a loaded trailer. I can't imagine towing with it.

Jealous! I really want one for a do-everything vehicle.

Its powerband is weird for a truck. I have to rev that thing out to accelerate because it’s anemic until 3.5k RPMs.

The manual Tacomas also comes with shorter gears (4.30 rear end) compared to the way more popular automatics (3.91 rear end). I’ve never driven an automatic Tacoma to confirm, but I can imagine them being a bit more anemic.

The F150 isn’t mine. I quoted somebody else’s post complimenting his truck lol.

But, I rented a crew cab ‘23 Lariat with the Coyote 5.0 V8 once. It’s a fun truck and I enjoyed ringing out that Coyote V8. A 5.0 F150 is definitely my top choice in today’s 1/2 ton truck market.

got a flat bed on the tow rig. Itll be nice for the gooseneck race trailer and doubles as a sled deck just not so tall.

This past weekend, my '21 Powerboost wasn't defogging, the entire tow to the site. Tried different methods to see if it'd help get the flow through, nada. At the end of the day when I drove home, it started working. Apparently there's some PCM reprogram along with the HVAC.

is the carolina squat stance just an optical illusion from the flat bed?

it was squatting BAD

Few notes:

- truck sits level empty but he fender gap on the flat bed is a fraction of the front. With the flat bed any squatting is exacerbated.
- it had approx 1000lbs on the bed and 2500-3000lbs tongue weight

Put airbags on it after this trip so it sits level loaded now. So far I really like them.

I just had the updates done in my 2022 f150. So far it’s a lot better and less glitchy. Hopefully you have the same results.

I would just sink a piece of square tube in the ground, built a mount for the winch that just slides in it. Use same size as a trailer hitch and you can easily put a plug/cover in it when not in use.

that sounds like a bigger job. maybe its the same if I drop in tubes and just use bolts like hitch pins?

How long did it take them? Did you wait for it or came back to pick it up.
