I bought my 19' F150 new and its got 56k miles now and warranty expires end of November.
Ive had some cam phaser rattle for a while progressively getting worse and finally got off my butt to get it confirmed at Ford before the warranty expires. I just had to drop it off for them to keep overnight to verify the next morning.
They called back next day and confirmed cam phasers, leaking water pump, and then offered a bunch of BS maintenance items (all fluids that have a 100-150k service interval). Had a date scheduled but later that day they called and had a tech freed up to get started right away. Next day it was all done with the latest cam phaser version and fresh water pump.
I didnt opt to do anything else because mileage and intended ownership length. But happy to have it done to cover me the next year or two before swapping out for a newer 5.0.

I have a 3.5 EB, it was something like the 17-20 being one of the worst cam phaser offender. I think the 22+ trucks have the updated ones but Austin can probably speak to that more.
I want a V8 with a whipple because why not . I really want a single cab but thatll have to wait till the truck after the next truck when the kids older.
My '19 F150 3.5 EB is also in the shop as of last week. Got the cam phasers done earlier this year which makes startup sound much better but it still gets the Auto Start/Stop clunk sometimes. The service dude seemed pretty decent and stated that with the updated parts the transmission issues should go away. I'm also hoping they figure out what's wrong with the rear end. The wife went car shopping this weekend and hated everything. She might end up driving the F150 full time when it comes back which would allow me to buy a fun car and still have a truck for homeowner/towing purposes.
I tuned the truck to disable the start/stop, its so jarring in the truck compared to other cars. My wifes bmw is way smoother at it.
I haven't had any trans issues other than a couple weird cold shifts right after pulling away from the house. But that's it. There's a lot of tech info on the 10r80 with it being in the mustangs and camaros too. I know there's something about a valve body that's a easy swap to replace that fixes early issues.
I always drive in Sport mode which gets rid of the 2-4 or 3-5 shift and gets rid of the start/stop. It still has a nasty clunk at startup sometimes but I wonder if a tune would stop that as well. I always said once the warranty is up I'll throw some parts on and tune it. I've been hesitant due to the transmission and not wanting any reasons for them to void the warranty.

Tune fixes a lot of things I think. One of the big ones to me is the continued acceleration when you lift the stock truck does. I had the 5star tune for 2 years and just swapped back to stock for a couple months before taking in for work and it wasnt brought up. Dont know if they just didnt care or didnt know.

Hekya, thats what I want. Fun truck, small-ish in size, and a totally usable bed for my business needs. But with a kid, cant imagine dealing with her princess-syndrome driving back from skiing (for example) and her just being a total cranky brat sitting between mom and I. Toss her butt in the back.
If the whole family is going out we take the Traverse or M2. This is mostly to commute and haul as necessary. And can have my 2 boys in there no prob. Will definitely be throwing a whipple on it. Simple work truck has me excited like I'm getting a new sports car haha

what engine?
you’re going to love it. I have a 2016 single cab 2.7eb 4x4 and it was a great dd. I’ve gone back and forth on getting one again but I have 3 kids at home still so it just doesn’t work out these days.

Well after 5.5 years, 43k miles, and an "unable to replicate" diagnosis every other time I took it for service the problem was the CDF drum bushing. The truck finally shifts properly and I'm excited to have it back. The wife got a '25 AMG GLC 43 so no driving the F150 for her.
Not really a truck meant for towing this load regularly (I would recommend a 1/2 ton truck for that), but I have a 2022 Toyota Tacoma. V6, 4x4, 6-Speed Manual.
It did the job fine considering that it’s a midsize truck. Although I would only do it again if I have an aluminum trailer that weighs 1k lbs less than that heavy U-Haul trailer.
