0.96^2 * 10*56 = 516
0.73^2 * 12*56 = 358

With the weights of the 350z being so much closer to balanced, I'm surprised it runs that much front spring. Front N.F. are much higher than rear.
oops, yeah.

plus the angle correction would influence it softer as well.

btw, your rear MR for the Evo is less than what we measured.. hrmm
0.73 vs 0.78

Hmm, I measured roughly 0.73 but that's not to say I didn't have an error. I do need to measure more accurately around the range my car sits at static, I think 0.73 was an average over the arc.

I just looked at the math with a 0.73, changes everything. yeesh.

You coming to the Pro Dallas? Hope to see you there.

Heh, yeah 0.05 isn't an insignificant difference. But I wouldn't really worry too much about it since its just used to get you in the ball part anyways.

Yep, we'll be there. The car/trailer is actually still there (I hope!). We'll be up Friday afternoon sometime.

yup, I forgot to square the MR, so the (typical) EVO rates are actually quite a bit higher. ...but we also have a lot more weight over the front wheels.

Doug, are you going this year? If so, did you send your name/SCCA# to Keith Brown for spot reservation?

quoting myself again

350Z VS EVO comparison
TIRES: 285 -vs- 245 = between ~10%-15%, since they run huge wheels let's call it 15% more tire on the 350Z
POWER: 297/280 -vs- 304/292 = 2%/4% less HP/TQ for the 350Z (+12% dyno correction factor)
WEIGHT: 1735lbs~ -vs- 1980lbs = 245lbs or 12% less weight on the front of the 350Z

Wouldn't that extra weight require even higher rates?

My head hurts from all this.

Realistically, an 03-04 is going to be in the 265-275 (275 is probably really high with the STU ruleset)whp range in STU trim. Weight should be around 3000.

That said, I've driven Willemin's STU IX and it out accelerates my BSP car IMO. I own a 350z and I am not drinking the coolaid it is the car in STU. I would still rather have a IX. C5 is the wildcard and the one you should be worried about.

good input
..fwiw, my car (in theory, since I've never been on a Dyno Dynamics) makes 268HP and 257TQ's (88% DynoJet)

I wonder what kind of dyno Matt the Canadian had his 368HP STU Corvette on...

Pretty sure John's car made 290's at all 4 on a mustang or dynamics dyno...which is an easy ~315whp on a RWD car.

Both BP and I ran our cars on dynamics fwiw.

Another Packwood NT win in the books! Very technical fun fast course. Peters would have got me here too, lots of big sweepers for him to own us

Good meeting new STU competitors! Flawless, ASP should have bought you Trashcans all night for filling their class
