Gridlife Trackbattle 2018 Discussion
Closer to 12.5:1 with some modifiers. I have already seen the sheet that tells you what power and weight you need to run. With it being a new series it will be a work in progress. I'm hoping to bring my new ST4/3 car out to try a race at some point next year.
Interesting announcement at PRI today, re the formation of NATA.

I finally read all the changes, I see they took away the drivetrain awards and now it’s just fastest overall time. Thinking to still pick up a second set of wheels so I can run street vs track mod. And I’ll get an additional map with reduced power.
Im currently debating with myself if I’m going to start at round 1 or not. Round 2 is a for sure go as summit is my home track.
I could sorta see that perspective, although my basis for straddling the fence was just pure tire sizing. I’ve been talking to my friend Marcos about it and I’m just going to bite the bullet and set the budget up for the new wheel and tire set up. Granted to I have the power level to dance with the track mod yeah but street mod is going to be more fun so to speak. A lot of people from the 18 season are jumping up to street mod so the class will be interesting this upcoming year.

that, and 255/40 are common for 17s, but for 18s, it's pretty much 265/35-18 that is the go to for that size.. oh well. maybe that will change with NATA, scca's time trial tuner class allows 305s for T2, which is I believe where the evo fits in. obviously bonkers, so 265 is a good meeting point.
A few SM guys won't be far off in power from TM guys, the bigger differences are dogboxes, suspension, aero and tires. If you don't have much aero on the car then I wouldn't expect to be competitive in TM, I'm in that boat right now. There's no restriction on wheel size so as long as you're on a 9.5" wheel or narrower then you're fine to fit a 255 on.
