Justin if you are considering slicks for AX, also consider the pain in the *** involved in both the price and the hassle changing your wheels 2 times per event. I fear, as much as you like AX, you will go through 2 sets of slicks a year since you don't like *****ing about price when it comes to having fun. You already have the RS-3's right? I would stick with them for now and get used to the new setup first.

The Hoosier 255 is almost the exact same size as the 275. They call it the cheater tire because in NASA it allows more points for basically the same thing. Almost all the fast cars in TTA were on a6-255 tires at nationals. Jeremy said he doesn't like them as much for autocross as they have a slightly different feel... he also keeps going bigger and bigger and getting faster and faster.
Tire temps should be taken into consideration too. If you can't get them warm, they are to wide. Running them at operating temp is more important then getting more meat on the ground. This is why most nationally competitive autocross cars have co drivers, to keep the tires warm. All of the national championship winning cars I've been a part of won nationals with the narrower of the tire options we had with two drivers. These were also in the top 5 fastest raw time cars.
