local Pittsburgh Meet
Hey, just wondering how many of you guys are planning on heading out to autox tomorrow. I'm thinking about doing it for the first time, but just curious about how many evo's i'm gonna see.
you should see a decent amount, although they are changing the structure of the event a bit. it's going to be a "team" event apperently.
they will assign teams at registration to compete for prizes and such.
sounds gay to me, but i want to get in a few more runs before the weather gets bad.
jeremy. seriously dude. that car. holy sh*t.
it has an absolutely scary amount of grip.
great job driving today, especially when you beat my best time in my own car. haha. i knew the car had more in it than i have been getting out of it. now i just gotta figure out how to drive it like that.
and mike. i've done horrible things to those tires. lol

Does anyone kno anything about a barrometeric pressure relay CEL? I alto thru a speed sensor along with it.? Not sure of the numbers as Justin wasn't able to get them. The car seems to be running fine, I'd just like to kno why i'm throwing them
well I'm glad there being put to use....what are you going to get next year?....lol

i'm not sure what i am gonna get for next. i have a set of gently used nitto R comps coming though before next season, but as for street tires, i am not sure. i have really been thinking of giving the bridgestone RE-O1 R's in a 255/40 a shot. most everyone i have talked to seems to really like those tires.
i don't have all that long to decide though, i destroyed pretty much all the tread that was left on those yokos today, so i will need to make sure i have something for spring.
i would love another set of advans, but i don't believe i can get those in a 255/40, and they cost a hell of alot more than the bridgestones.
i was also kicking around the idea of the BF Goodrich G-Force KD's. i know i can get those in at least a 245/40.
did you make your trip to CBRD yet Mike?
in an unrelated note, does anyone else have "Call of Duty 4" for xbox 360? i just picked it up bout 3 days ago, and i love it. i haven't gotten into Xbox Live matches because i am still finishing the campaign, but if anyone wants to play on Live my gamer tag is "oligarchy". Steve, i noticed you were on CoD4 the other day, but was on my way out when i noticed.
RE: PO106 code
Here is a good post explaining the code.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...06#post4803022
Here is a nice definition of barometric pressure and how it relates to your car.
http://autorepair.about.com/library/.../bldef-071.htm
The code doesn't look like its going to kill your car and really what happened was the voltage went out of range. I'd clear, drive it, turn it on and off a bunch of times and see if it comes back.
If it does I might think that MAP sensor could be the culprit(I might be wrong here). Oddly enough I have a stock MAP sensor at my house if you need it. You're welcome to barrow it.
Another thing you can try is disabling the EGR checks on the ECU.
You can find how disable that in your ROM here:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ht=jdm+map+log
That won't fix it but it can help pinpoint the issue.
Hope that helps,
Dave

Thanks Dave, I've been giving some good info from a few people as to things to check. I'm not really all that worried about it other then i'd like to kno why its happening. The car is running just fine. lol. And if i can't seem to find the culprit its going to the evo guru Mike.
Hey Justin I did go out to CBRD this weekend! First off the shop is freaking
unreal!! It's so clean you could eat off the floors. Chad is very nice and helpful,
I can't wait to bolt everything on and see what my gains will be.
As for the car, his dyno does read lower then most but my car compared to the
typical bolt on car at his shop was down about 15hp and 25 ft/lbs. It laid down
285hp and 275 ft/lbs at a max of 20.9 psi. I still have to get the boost controller
dialed in, get the parts on and have chad retune the car. I atleast have a baseline
and we will see what the improvements will be.
Now if any of you talk to Mike (or he reads this) could you ask him if he would rent
some of the tools to do a cam job? Mainley the timing belt tensioner and maybe
the 14mm hex head. I would greatly appreciate it!!

hopefully come spring i will be able to go out with you and get some tuning done of my own.
i've already started hinting to my mom that the perfect xmas gift would be a ported o2 housing. lol
