pulled the trigger on that turbo about 3 mins after i got off the phone with you silkey.

Now do you have any of theses?

- aftermarket O2 housing
- Aftermarket UICP
- Maybe a mini battery depending on UCIP
- Catch Can
- If you have any of the stock couplers from your stock IC piping. Im looking for a specific one as well. If you look at your STOCK UICP the coupler that is at the closest end to you and right in front of the radiator fan shroud I need that one. My mesh is coming apart do it rubbing on the fan shroud. pissed.

Let me know bro!

If you are serious about this and it is truly "seriously modded" then it is worth the time that it takes to get everything done correctly. Also, if he is your friend like you say, then he wont mind going with you to get it looked at. Thats just my two cents.... but what do i know.
I hear ya about the drive, and yeah I want more than just someone to look under the hood, I can do that.
I'm looking for a "good" shop that specializes in Evo's hopefully within about 45min of east hartford or enfield, just to make it more convienent for my friend as he is giving me a REALLY good deal
oh well it looks like its either goin to EFI or ECS
anyone have experience with XX, I've heard alot of mixed things in the past but I hear its under new management
here is a basic run down of what it has

Funny you mentioned XX tuning....call the dmv...they have a seperate complaint line just about them. It's pretty darn funny if you ask me.

yeah, the car doesn't seem to extreme quite yet. easily could become that way though!

i didnt realize you lived all the way up in enfield. thats gonna be quite a haul for any of the good shops around here. good shops arent all over the place, so you will have to make a drive no matter what. I'm not sure what all is in mass, but you might want to check there. just remember what i said. when you are deling with a car like this, it is wise of you to take the extra hour drive and go to a shop that will give you the basic run down of the ins and outs of what you are buying. the last thing you want is to buy a car you know absolutely NOTHING about. from the sounds of it, it is a decent car with some decent upgrades in it.

Yeah I'm thinking right now its either EFI (about 1-1.5 hours) or DSG (about 2 hours)
really this is dual purpose I want them to look at the car and then whenever I do upgrades I'll take it back to them for a tune, or if I have issues with the car I can take it to em
and under 1 hour tow>2 hour tow
but hey thats the way it is
thanks for the help guys, I'll update ya\post whenever I get the car checked out

I think I missed the beginning of this convo but you have an evo now? Or you are about to or just purchased an evo?

I also live in Enfield. Only other evo in enfield that I know of is qucifer and his has been in the garage all winter.

Ive got the TB VIII with vermont plates. Cant miss it

On a largely unrelated note:

It is time for me to pull the Evo out of hibernation and try my hand at AutoX. As part of the large maintenance bill I plan to incur in the next couple weeks, I want to have my very stock IX MR tuned. I recognize there is a limited audience that checks into this thread, but I would estimate that you are the best lot to have opinions on CT performance shops. In my own research I have decided that The Shop or EFI Logics would be the best places to have the tune and alignment performed. I have not heard of any recent bad experiences with either shop, most of the experiences I have come across have lead me to believe that EFI has a larger customer base (at least of Evos) and I know that The Shop is less expensive for the work I am looking to have performed.

Have any of you any reason for me to pick one shop over another? Most reviews (of both locations) I have read were related to moderately to heavily modified cars, not so much from the stock perspective. If you would feel more comfortable discussing experiences in the form of PM, any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you much.

Regards,

-NERDY
I had my evo tuned at efi logics last year. It was a good tune but was expecting a little more boost. I heard the guy that does suspension work there is really good. They do more subies then evo's but shouldn't matter.

This year decided to have my car tuned by Mellon and me. It takes some time but well worth it if ya got the tools.. I had an expensive winter project but she's finally done for now

fp black, good amount of mod's
