^ there's LIP collision in montgomery county here that do jig repairs on unibodies.

i never used them but wish i known about them when i had a rear quarter panel ruined and replaced. the suspension stuff doesn't need any sort of specialist just new parts

What are the benefits of a jig repair as opposed to some other methods? As far as the suspension is concerned I understand that but I find it hard to diagnose myself what is actually bent assuming it is. As I said there was contact of the wheel with the lower control arm.

damn, hate to see another evo look like that. no offense, I know you feel bad enough already, but thats exactly why some of us do track days and autox.

are you planning on going thru insurance? that looks like its going to hurt the piggy bank, these cars aren't cheap to repair. My car was involved in an accident not too long ago where the control arm was bent, along with a bunch of other stuff, and the final bill came out to be north of $14k. It was handled thru insurance and LIP collision did all the work and they did an excellent job. I would highly recommend them if thats the route you want to go. they really know these cars inside and out and they will work with you if you want swap in aftermarket parts instead of OEM. I know of several other evos that were also repaired by them and their owners are just as happy.

A jig repair is a method that involves a large spider-like apparatus that they line up all the spots welds and compare it to the factory tolerances with something ridiculous of like 1mm. It allows the people fixing the car put a structural piece like a quarter back where it was when the car was built rather than having someone get the panel to fit right via eyeballing.

LIP uses some laser guided procedure for unibodies that may make what I explained seem antiquated. Like I said, I wish I knew about them when I needed body work.

I try to not drive like an idiot on the road. Sh*t happen I guess. I was on my way to the auto-x btw. We had left a little late so we were driving faster than we should have been. I am surprised 14k was put into your car and they didnt decided to total it out instead. The gameplan was to get the car home as I am family friends with a guy who owns a body shop. LIP collision sounds interesting as I could have the car done down here instead. I just find it very hard to trust people with my car so I dont wanna just bring it to any place.

If hitting a cone is a 2 sec penalty, how much for clipping a plane?

Why I am a posting on Evom at 3 in the morning... because I am car depressed right now. Everything is back together and I start the car and we hear the same noise as before. It has been determined that my trans must be wasted. When I push clutch in noise is not loud but when I let go of clutch it makes all kinds of racket. There was no metal in the trans fluid when we drained it, but Adam thinks it probably chipped a tooth on first or second gear. After thinking back to the last event I co drove it with 2 other people. We were all fighting to get the car to go into gear. It probably wasted a synchro or busted god knows what that day. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So now I am out the cost of a New Shep 5 speed too. So the list is:
Front wheel bearings
Front Control arm bushings
Sway bar bushings F&R
Exedy rebuild = clutch discs, both floater plates, throw out bearing, throw out bearing clip (this all was expected)
misc. bolts, reverse sensor, fluids

Last year I had sent my transfer case to Shep and he installed a Quaife diff and did whatever he does to them.

My god, I could have a Porsche with all the $ in this bish.. Seriously I am annoyed right now.

yeah mike. sorry to hear.

though you could have bought a porsche with the money you put into your evo, just imagine what it would take to fix a porsche with similar problems.
