I have researched insurance coverage for these HPDE events. Most insurance policies have exclusions for any accident on a racetrack and or high speed driving event, timed or not. I am sure most of you know, but this one place Marc recommended looking into is $180 per event or $144 per event if you do 6. I said my car was worth $27000, there is a $2000-5000 deductible on a loss.
Do you guys carry the insurance or are you all ballers that can just walk away from your rides if you tin can them? Just curious, one of the things that got me out of the HPDE 5 years ago, that and my son.

What's the deductible on a repair? Does it also cover track charges? I heard of people getting a bill from the track for repairs, too. $ can add up quick.

It's 10% of value on average, they say a range $2000-5000.

Here is the link to the break down of policy:

I would just walk away from my car.. Cause I'm hard like that.

I think I'll get the insurance for WGI, NJMP has enough run-off that I don't sweat it.

Whatever the case, no one has to like anything. If you ask me the reason why, it is because ego's get bruised at autocross. I get beat by Simmonz, Corey, Cy and others regularly. Does it **** me off to no end, hellz yeahs.. but I never quit, like a fist fight to me, keep coming until I drop. Man I am getting all pumped up here!

Dan and the rest of you Autox quitters, what happenz if I schools you at HPDE, you gonna quit?
I didn't quit because I wasn't good at it and lost motivation. You think I was good or am currently good at HPDE? I like going to a driving event and spending a good portion of the time in my car. Autox to me feels like a car meet with a bunch of bullsh!t included then I move my car around a few cones then park and talk **** about whatever. I could never warm up to it.

If you come to the track and school me I don't think I'll care much but from the rate you're moving now, by the time you get out to the track, I may end up being your instructor.

I aint no quitter.. I still enjoy autox a whole lot. Something about knowing you have to go out and push as hard as you can, all while keeping it clean without totally effing it up is exciting. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't (Chu beating me at Warminster, me mowing the lawn). Its a challenge, and I like that.
I plan on going after the street tire championship, if there is such a thing...? I'll make most of the events, don't know about all. I guess it depends on location and timing with HPDE events I plan on running.

Aaron, I'm in for a tech job, holla at your boy!

Sorry Chu, love ya man (full on homo), but tech seems more appealing.

I would like to thank Troegs and Budweiser for my late night posting.

If I had a do over with my car or could somehow sell all my stuff now, I would turn around and buy this (or split the car cost with someone)....

http://www.sccaforums.com/forums/for...08/scope/posts

I would offer him $15000 cash and then goto CA to pick up that car. Shipping costs around $1000 or me driving would be same ball park.

James or anyone with some cash want to buy this with me (meaning you layout the cash and I pay you back. We can store it at my house or warehouse (have drive in dock at my new warehouse) and I will transport in lieu of any extra $ spent by you to all events. Deal????

I would pay my portion once I sell my stuff (car or truck). I have an E350 van work that I could tow with presently. In fact I would probably just look for another van so I could use it for towing the toys and work. With $ saved we could insure car for every event or just tin can it and walk away.. Anyhow I just woke up and decided I want this car.

Just looking at the ride height on that car, the driver didn't know how to setup the suspension. The roll centers have to be all effed up, unless there's some serious custom lca work up front.
