That sucks, Ben. The whole thing sounds pretty friggen scary to be honest... Too bad snoopy had to get taken out as well.
Intercooler is off the car, gonna run it up to WC today and talk to some friends and see if something can be done about the LICP. Would like to get this whole thing resolved before the 4th cause you know I'z wanna be out stuntin on the holiday, yo!

^ don't think i will lift inside tires, if front and rear sways are even then there won't be tendency to tripod. that's more common i autox with quick transition from left to right. most quick transition on track are chicane.
my next track event would have been VIR next weekend. but that's not going to happen because tranny wont be back in time. and then Pocono long course two weekend from now, which probably wont happen also. TRE said it would take three weeks for the tranny. you'll have to ride with me when i have to hoosiers on to fell the body roll. or we can just bunk together at hotel next time and you can fell the body roll there too. (mad homo)

MIke, did you get the car to step out at all last weekend? 2-3-4 & 7 are good spots for that. Just curious if you were as comfortable sliding the car around on the track as you are at an autox.
Granted more common in Autox , but would happen on track when there is chicanes as you stated. Even more than just lifting inside tire my own experience with big bar was car would snap oversteer on throttle. You had to modulate your throttle inputs to keep the car settled, way more than in a normal car. MY car was difficult to drive when it was like that (for me). Changing to stock rear bar settled the rear down, car steps out nicely now, totally predictable with stock bar. Stock bars made mine and Shoes car's much easier to drive Autoxing.
like i said, autox is all about getting the car to rotate at low speed and fast transitions. so people would add huge rear bar to reduce rear grip, or even remove front sway bar. it's the opposite on track, you don't want to reduce rear grip and have the rear rotate when you're doing 100mph around a high speed sweeper. or you add aero to generate more grip at those high speed turns.
Realize that transitional rotation and steady state balance are tuned via different methods. Damping should be used to co trol transitions, while springs and sways are used to balance the car at steady state. Autox is more transition heavy, so damping is very key to success. Track tends to require less transition and more steady state. Having never tracked my current autox car, this a little speculative, but I would bet the majority of difference on my car to tune for track would be aero (less in rear due to higher speed) and damping. When I tracked my sentra at beaverun, I don't think I made any changes. I just knew that on turn in the back would rotate. Counter steer as needed and throttle thru. My instructor loved when I entered turn 1
Track or autox, there are multiple ways of setting up a car. I like springs and damping over sways (and damping). I know plenty of people that use huge bars at autox, I'm just not one of them.
Pete speaking of LICP, for my woes I just bought full 2.5" MAP LICP that fits 99% of the 3.5-4" core FMICs. The current LICP is made for stock FMIC and I didn't feel like chopping it up to make it fit.
