I'm going to coat them. I haven't settled on a color but I'm leaning toward gold if the hyper black finish they have is in good condition. I can clean them really well and apply a semi translucent gold over top. Satin black and bronze are the other choices if I have to strip it down to the bare metal.

that would look so good. good thing you can do that all yourself, options are limitless.

side note, just did a couple wide open pulls from 2nd to 3rd. for the second time today my service engine soon light has come on. second pull (later in the day) it sputtered hard then went. pulled the codes and it was of course the p0300 code (multiple cylinder misfires). Usually means plugs, but i just changed them less than 10K ago. Wideband says im running rich at WOT (like 10.0), so I could have fouled one out.

im going to pull them tomorrow and take a look, however I am in MD and left my tools in PA. anyone know what size socket is needed to reach down there and grab thost bad boys out after you pull the packs out? Friend has tools, just not sure on the size and dont wana go trial by error to find out it standard vs metric or the other way around. thanks guys!

If the dents and bends are as minor as he says, I can probably balance them out anyway.

Josh, since you live so close and you text all the time I'll post this.

Thanks for taking the time to do the boost leak test. Check with Andrea and see if we are set for Friday.

Play nice girls...

So I can't wait to go back to work... little lady is on a spending spree this weekend. Saturday it was a Dyson (luckily we bought the floor model and saved a $100), yesterday it was the dishwasher. I said I waited to only really spend $400, yeah, that didn't happen. I'm gonna have to pick up a second job here soon...

I will say if any of you guys are looking for appliances, tv's ,whatever... HH Gregg has some good deals and they price match.

pete, i took my wife to the outlets on saturday and forgot my suicide kit. upon leaving she told me she didn't get enough stuff and will have to go to the mall on sunday which she did. add taking her out for dinner and drinks every night so far, she can't give me the "we need to sit down and figure out a savings plan" speech.

I hear ya... we've been out a few nights too. Out in WC last night, soooo much talent. Even with school out.

Don't know what to tell you about your car, that sucks though. I fell very fortunate that I've never had the 0300 problem with my car, I know it affects a lot of 03's. You could always try a diy cop kit...?

yea i had it twice before, and now this is the first time i actually feel it buck. i am just going to reset the ecu, pull the plugs, check em out, and look at my map if my friend has his laptop bc i think i am running way to rich right now. great for my DD! haha.

the diy COP kit looks awesome, something i am definitely going to get at some point, but right now i can barely afford my gas, so it will take some time. that and im begining to save for the 60K service plus cams, springs, retainers etc....another pretty penny

anyone know of a good 13/16 deep spark plug socket to get? obviously craftsman has just the socket, but I thought there was an actual tool that would make it easier (last time I used a buddies red, bendable, magnetic spark plug tool). any ideas? need to pull the plugs but my normal sockets are too thick...

A 10mm socket, a 13/16 deepwell socket and some needle nose pliers are all you need to get everything out. Are you on the tehpra v7 rom? Any chance you switched to the alternate map if you are?

nope no tephra mod for me. i figure i could do it with pliers and a 13/16 socket but i know i used something that was so much easier.

i also used one with a rubber piece that was easy too.

of course this would happen the one day im in a diff state without any tools, on a holiday, and not at the big evo bbq with other people with tools everywhere....i swear my evo loves to mess with me!
