Are you taking the evo out on a trailer? If so, I'll take you up on that offer.

Hey guys, not to ask the newb question, but what BOV should I be looking at?

I don't care to be a ricer and VTA, I just want one that will hold 28-30 lbs and still work well with on/off throttle transitions. I crushed the IX BOV but now highway driving is affected.

whatever BOV you choose make sure you affix a turkey call to it.

in all seriousness though, maybe an HKS SSQ with a recirc kit?

I have a turbo smart twin vent that holds boost very well, but because it vents half to atmosphere it screws up my afr's a bit when I let off gas (I think it is also causing a bit of backfiring and lethargic idle recovery). Highway driving sucks, but you get used to it. I don't know of any bov that works as well as the stock one for drivability, but I couldnt get my stock one passed 27psi.

By the way, congrats on that 11.79 pass! I know that is what you were looking for and I can't believe u did it on the stock clutch. I think if I could have controlled the wheelspin better I would have been in the 11.6s...

I have that new Tial QR recirc valve and have nothing but good things to say about it. I had the APS twin vent and when my boost was up around 35-37 psi it would leak and flutter pretty bad. I like the fact that with the Tial you can swap springs to change pressure and it is built like a tank, like most tial BOV's and waste gates. It is a little pricey, but should be the last valve you will ever need for the car.

yeah i have the same issues with stock IX BOV (BOB). Bob is crushed and still doesnt hold boost well above 26psi. I purchased a New Bob (synapse syncronic )and has two nipples rather than one. Two nipples connected had highway drivability issues. I am still playing with switching nipples to figure out which one works better.

Yea i was impressed with the Tial recirc on your car last night, no drive ability issues that I saw compared to some of the other valves on the market that I have messed with......

I am in the same boat as well......I have a partially crushed stocker but have yet to test it - hoping it will hold up to 30 psi, but i fear crushing it more will have the same effect your experiencing Ian. Currently it drives fine but still some more room left to crush so we'll see. Not crushed it held almost 26 before chattering during a leak test.

I will probably end up with a tial someday especially being on SD and not having to worry about recirc.

While you are playing with Bob's nipples, will you give him a reach around as well?

Thanks guys for the input on BOV's. Yeah I definitely crushed it to the max... oops.
