Well gents, how was everyones weekend? Was at the my girlfriends familys cabin up in the boonies (Cooks Forrest) and had a pretty decent weekend. Got to try out the new gun, drink some beers and just relax with some country folk.

Saw a GG IX in the middle of NOWHERE northeast of butler on some back roads. Not sure if it is anyone on here, but it looked pretty close to stock and nice and clean. I wasn't in mine (as its still down due to the turbo problem) and was in the Jeep, but I gave him a honk.

So, got off the phone with FP on friday to check on the status of the rebuild. Basically the whole thing is crapped out and they are just going to replace the entire turbo and assembly. Great customer service over at FP, seriously. The guy even offered to comp me an upgrade to a Red and all new housing, etc, but I opted to stay with the Green.

What do you guys think, should I have taken him up on his offer? Maybe I could hurry up and change things come monday, but it would take some good convincing to make me switch things.

The new one is just a little fun gun. Saw it at Cabelas last time I was down there and thought it would be a good one for people to just have fun with up at camp and teach others how to shoot. Plus, the bullets are cheap as hell. Its a Remington 597 VTR, a little .22lr. Had to have shot at least 1000 rounds this weekend, no issues and got it sighted in in no time. Put 10 shots within 2" at 100 yards, so it was pretty damn accurate too.

Yeah, FP really made things easy on me. I paid for the expedited shipping and everything else was on them, he was impressed with the numbers the car was making. Even though things seemed pretty busy there, the guy on the phone still had time to shoot the **** for at least 15 minutes on products in development, and Roberts 2.3L car that has an HTA Green on it they all drive around. Really nice guy.

i just googled that, it's a pretty cool gun. 22's are a blast to shoot. i've been kicking around the idea of getting one for a while now, just haven't gotten around to it. it hurts the pocket book quite a bit with my .45 if i want to go out and shoot for more than 10 minutes.

The guy that was shot by that cop in Shaler had a .22. He shot at a friend of mine across the bar at belisarios. Missed! My buddy pulled up his shirt and said "you missed *******". The guy then ran.

He got what was coming to him.

That was literally right up the street from my house. Crazy stuff. Some people shouldn't be trusted with guns at all, or maybe the regulations should be a little more strict to weed those people out of the buying process.

Mondo, it is a really fun gun. Nothing like going out and being able to buy 1000 rounds of ammo for under 100 dollars and still being able to shoot off some nice groupings.

we should have an evo meet at the range some time before the weather turns bad.

i know there are quite a few of us that are armed to the teeth, and i always love shooting different guns.

so far my favorite handgun that i've shot is my kimber ultra carry II, followed closely by a full J frame kimber 1911 that i got to use for a few magazine at the range a while back.

as far as rifles (semi auto) i'm absolutely in love with the ruger mini 14. i know evolved will argue the drawbacks to the .223 round all day long, and there are certainly merits to that point, but in my opinion for shooting fun in a larger caliber it can't be beat.

i've only gotten to shoot a smie auto 22lr once, but it was a great time. those milk jugs never knew what hit them.

I am always down for that. I just have three guns, a Glock .40, Remington 30-06 and then the little .22lr. They are all up at camp, but if people give me notice I can bring them back to play around with.

Is there a good place to go to have some real fun? It will be two years that I shot the AK this November, I got close to 12,000 rounds ready to rock but don't want to waste it at a range, im more into an old strip mine or somewhere where duputy dog won't frown upon 75 round drum clips!
