Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
The day my install was done, the other service tech scheduled to work that day called in sick. According to the dealer, leaving Mike as the only Mitsu tech working that day.
Perhaps they lied to me and Mike was the one who called off; would they actually do that? Or, Mike was just swamped with too many things to do as a result of having to do my install (4+ hours with alignment) plus all the other general Mitsu maintenance that came in that day.

Mike Baierl Mitsubishi.
I just got off the phone with Swift and they confirmed my suspicion that the springs were installed incorrectly. They said that the springs should not be making more than a little squeak... not a noise consistent with hauling river rock in my trunk. Mike, did it wrong. Maybe he was rushed or simply made a mistake; but it was wrong.
Now begins my battle with the dealer, I'm gonna call tomorrow morning.

Well damn!!! I saw 3 evos in 30 minutes today! pulling out of ritas/starbucks i saw lemmonhead pull into starbucks he's not to friendly.. hah. Saw a GG evo X drive past me when i was walking out of gamestop and then i almost caught up to him pulling out of giant eagle plaza going onto 19 but i was turning, i tried to get his attention not sure if it worked..

So I'm coming up on 60k in the next couple months. For those of you that have been through this before, what was the condition of the belt, pulleys, pump, etc. when changed out? I'm not looking to push past 60k but I was wondering if it would be better off to get it done a little early.
Mike is off work till weds next week. Bring it down thurs evening. I will take a look at it.....nothing is loose , nothing was installed wrong. I wanted to check the rattle after I got done with the alignment. You showed up and took the car before I got to it....the service writers up front are useless never even asked me if I was done with car. Just rolled it. So if you can make it on thurs I would like to take a look at it

Maybe the top plate is not aligned/indexed correctly? Just guessing after searching around the forum.
Hopefully it's something quick and simple.

Ya, that's one option; but a very poor one in my case. My vehicle abilies are limited to oil changes.. which with the springs and a lack of low profile ramps, is also going to be non-existant.

IMO change the belt at 60k or every 5 years, whichever comes first. My car was first bought in 1/07 so I will do it early 2012 no matter what the miles are.
Doing it a few thousand miles early might be a good idea as its still under warranty and if Mike or whomever finds something off while its apart it would hopefully be covered.

Were you in cranberry joshevo22? I saw an evo that was your color today. Revved his engine and then turned going towards sheetz. I drive a Phantom black and I always see a blue one. That's the only evo I have ever seen around. Would be cool to meet up sometime.

There is a sonic near my house. I can and only will meet up there between 2 and 4 when slush's are half off!!!
But yeah, I am about an hour from l-ville. PM me when you might be around, that would be cool
i guess it worked! I was gonna flag you down when you drove past me when i was walking but idk and yea for sure id be down to meet up! and id be down to meet at sonic with everyone!
