Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
It's like any other series. If your accepted to run with a team unless it's a 100% free AND paid ride (which almost NO drivers in any series are this yr other than F1 & nascar) you pay them team, entry fees, tires all expenses after you get the estimated budget. You get sponsors to give you that money to your LLC which you just pay your team.

that's actually not even my evo. i sneak in to parking lots when no one is around and remove the wheels off other peoples cars to photograph their calipers.
i'm the worst peeping tom ever.
Gave her the ring August 12th last year.

The problem with the tdi cup is that it was open to just about anyone that was 18-24 years old. You then had to come up with a huge sum of money to try out. (yes you got it back if you didn't make it but, what 18-24 has that kinda money laying around. And you can't really get sponsers to try out typically. Then it was the same amount to enter the series. That you hopefully had paid for by sponser! Plus, travel, hotel etc out of pocket.
The difference between real pro drivers is that they have a racing background to disply to their sponsers and not 1 year of karting and a driver school or two. They have actually come up thru the ranks and earned spots.
Now that being said. It's a fine series if you can afford to take the fast track. They teach you slot and you get a chance to start a career. The rest is up to you! Dosnt mean that most of the folks that race end up with more then some good storys tho.
And finally. Racing cars is a rich mans sport. Always was and always will be. Just the way it is.

So here is the stupid question. Why the run around Eric? Just say you had the money from who cares where to drop 50-70 grand and go racing for a year.
There isn't any shame in it. So really for you it's an expensive hobby. That's cool and all. Some people are lucky enough not to have to work in the traditional sense.
I don't get why you'd want us to think otherwise? There are plenty of gold collar kids with EVO's that don't do this. Even out here in western PA. You're really only fooling yourself and making yourself look bad.
Try racing yachts or horses if you want to be exclusive.
