paul, like many others, holds the coveted "beating mondo around the track" record.

Dont normally post on here anymore, but since my name in question was brought up directly, here ya go.

They were out of 4" cores at the time of purchase. They made me a 4.5" one.... Still used the IX end tanks. There was NO CUTTING involved, though I did not have my crash support beam on the car before or after. I also did not have the under

Now i know for a fact the the 5" one needs extreme trimming of the bumper, so I didnt get the extra half inch when offered at the same price. wanted it to bolt right up, and it did.

plenty of photos to look at here for fitment but it should fit.

GG IX MR on 279 about 6pm heading north by the hazlette street exit.

black IX (i think it was a ix) on perry highway about 6:45 by sheetz with tinted windows.

anybody here?

i left the car with at baierl for mike last for a tranny front/center/rear diff fluid change.

it's been quite a few miles since i last had one. the whole car feels as good as new now. amazing what putting in some fresh oils will do.

she's just about ready for the time trial.

i also got my 4 bar map in the mail today.

i'm looing forward to getting that in the car along with the boost controller and a few other doodads i have laying around the house. should be fun.

Thanks Pab. I tried my best to make it fit on there without any cutting but it was impossible from what I could tell. I had to trim the bumper bolt support brackets and some of the air dam for the oil cooler. It fits, but damn, it was tight as hell.

Car runs great with it, the exhaust manifold really changes the sound of the exhaust strokes in general but this car is still so ****ing loud and I don't know why. I am going to have to sell the exhaust and go with that RRE Stealth. I still am looking to hear one in person. The tune still needs a few things tweaked, for some reason I am picking up knock at like 2k rpm sometimes and it will stutter to get into boost on occasion, but it feels good when the turbo hits thats for sure.

Mondo, at one point I had gone a decent amount of miles over my recommended tranny fluid change with the old 6 speed and when I swapped in new fluids it was a night and day difference. That is why I have become a firm believer of frequent differential and drivetrain fluids.

Thats all for now, thanks again for the pictures and suggestions. I will post back with some numbers and then once it is all set up correctly, some track times.

After the Flat Out Day on the 2nd the car is going to take a break until the 13th if you want to switch exhausts to try out the RRE...

When Mike was out at the track this weekend I asked him how that car sounded coming down the front straight and he laughed and said he couldn't hear it....he thought it was comical

Find out the system Patrick is running. I heard it at Beaver Run and it was soooooo dang quiet. At idle, it was quieter than my car. On the track, you could hear the roar of the Viper down the track, but when Patrick came by, that thing was quiet.

Okay, let me know when and where and we can swap if you wouldn't mind. This thing is going to drive me crazy on the streets. You can PM me your number and I can text/call you and we can work something out. I will be up in Cooks Forrest this weekend for 4th of July debaucheries, should leave Friday and back Monday.

Many thanks

I actually think it's in STX, which is street tire. But the evo, would be STU with proper ST* mods.

found it: http://www.steelcities-scca.org/TimeTrials/records.asp

If that RRE Stealth doesn't work out for ya I have a DC Sports catback on mine. I can't remember if its a full 3" but its a single straight through muffler. It may be a little more restricting than the rest but the tradeoff in lack of exhaust drone at cruise is well worth it IMO. If I wasn't going to be traveling/vacationing I would entertain an exhaust swap for a little while but that couldn't happen for a while. Maybe you could pick one up cheap.

I was having the same issues at around 2K-2500 too, it would knock then cascade throughout the pull. I ended up adding a bit of fuel in the 100-120 range and smoothing the timing transitions in that area and it has since disappeared.

Paul, I have no doubt that evodave is going to bring the heat. I wasn't going to run the Hoosiers but with him there I might have too. That still may not be enough to hold him off. I'm hoping that experience on that track will help
me. Heck there are a few people that might put on a good show for fastest time. It's turning out to look like a fast car event.

Oh I believe Frank actually holds the fastest street tire time. But, I remember evodan putting up some good timed. If I remember, I think it was a 67.xxx.

We don't have that as an official record tho. Maybe we should?

If your curious about records they are on Steelcitys SCCA website.

dan will be bringing the deitzel cup for fastest normal daily driven evo. he has held tight to that title for the last couple events.

someone needs to take it from him.

it is time to inscribe someone else's name on the cup.

we can put together a "James May" award for the slowest normal daily driven evo if you like.
