Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
Went to the NASA event at BR today. Got to meet Patrick for the first time. Great to see the Orange Flyer in action. Passing cars left and right. Mike stopped by as well.
Great weather.

Well I finally did get to see the nightmare turn into a dream...After all that Patrick has been through with car,it was rather rewarding to see it out on the track...not to mention there is nothing like watching an evo passing everything on the track....In my book that makes for a good day....

As much as "I" went through with the car, Mike went through as much-if not more. Not only did he "undo" all the wrongs that were done by others, but he the set the car (and me) on the right path.
Today was the first time that the car has really been "run" after being shook down for the past month and it was the fastest car out there- a testament to Mike's work..
The car will only get faster when we get some logs to Jestr for more HP/TQ and I continue to work the rust off a 1-year hiatus from being on track.
Wish there were more Evo's out there today...great day to be on track
just an fyi, craftsman torque wrenches are only warrantied for 1 year and you need a receipt to do an exchange if yours is broken.
my POS torque wrench broke a little ago and they refused to take it back. i just assumed that as a tool you operate with your hands (i think that qualifies as a hand tool) that it was covered under the lifetime warranty that all their sockets, wrenches, etc are...
not so, and they didn't bother to tell me different when i purchased it.
oh well, live and learn. guess i need to scare up at $300 and get a Snap-On torque wrench instead. in the last year i've broken every craftsman ratchet i own, several ratcheting flat wrenches, and the torque wrench. frustrating. looks like i need to start making more long term investments in my tools.

Wow Brant! You take some awesome photos
What camera/lens combo?
Mike told me you posted these up and made my crappy paint job look spectacular and he wasn't stretching the truth!!
Very, very, nice

There are 2 screws at the top of the door and the rest is held by dzus fasteners...
The guy that built the cage thought is would be a great idea to just do door skins to save a couple pounds, but frankly it is a royal PIA....
With all the crap that gets into the car from the track not having access through the rear doors to the jungle-gym makes clean up a biach.
Not worth the hassle for saving a few pounds...
I thought they came out pretty good. Wish I would have taken more when the clouds rolled over.
How did today's runs go?
Went well!
Was playing cat and mouse with the Viper and Porsche again....was fun.
Got signed off for NASA TT so will get classed for TTS and will run Mid-Ohio in July-we'll see how the Evo does against the Vette's in TTS.

my car did 351awhp and 346awtq! pretty happy overall!!
