Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
NASA at BeaveRun
Anyone coming out to BeaveRun this weekend for the NASA event?
Weather is supposed to be nice and I believe they still have space for all the HPDE slots.
I know that NASA doesn't have the best bang-for-the-buck in terms of track time but the instruction is typically very good and it's a great opportunity to get to watch some good racing in between the HPDE sessions each day.
Should be interesting to watch the race groups get around a smallish track

not a lot of details on there.
what are the requirements to drive in the time trial area?
how much are entry fees, registration, etc?
what safety gear is required?
details! we need details patrick!
So the cost is (was?) $325 for 2 days IIRC, but I think that was if you registered online. You would have to call/e-maill to the registrar (847-574-8032 registration@greatlakes.com) to see if that price is still good because I think it goes up once the online registration closes.
You also have to be a NASA member which is $45 but can be refunded when I give you my NASA number

Here is the event schedule-
http://www.nasagreatlakes.com/docs/2...e_Schedule.pdf
You won't be able to run in TT because you need to progress through the NASA "ladder" system (HPDE 1-2-3-4) and be signed-off for TT. You would also need to have your car classed (TTB or TTA depending on mods) so that you would be running with "like" cars in Time Trials.
I haven't run with NASA in 3 years and just re-upped my membership so I won't be running TT either, but rather HPDE.
Tech is outlined here:
http://www.nasaproracing.com/images/..._hpde_tech.pdf
Safety gear is the typical SA helment, pants, no open-toe shoes etc...
The only issue with NASA is they have a tendancy to have alot of cars in HPDE which on a short track like BeaveRun can lead to "trains"; but if you are out to learn and have a good instructor (which most are) then even the "slow" time out on track can be beneficial.
Compared to a BR "Flat Out Day" this will be more crowded but there is also some fun racing to watch when not out on track.
Haha, yep, that was me. You flew off the North park exit. I was going to Bally's Gym. Two GG mitsubishis probably looked pretty cool cruising through McKnight.
i kept trying to pull along side of you but was getting **** blocked by traffic and didn't want to pull any really crazy **** on that part of mcknight to make a move.

car looks good though.
i'm actually from the south hills, but was headed up to the north park area to help another one these dudes on here drink beer and change out some bulbs in the gauge cluster.
you planning on bringing her out to any of the autoX or time trial events that are coming up?
the scca time trial on the wilson circuit at beaver run on july 10th is going to be a blast.

. Plus i just had to buy new tires for the X after a screw was found. The investment assured that it will be around for another weekend
