Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
Yes, for shorter distances/interval stuff I wear the five fingers. Longer runs I'm using regular running shoes as I was given a pair of Rebooks to try. They're really well made and have held up well but I wouldn't recommend them past that. Nike Lunarglides are still tops.

My wife has been running for almost 3 years now. She did the Pittsburgh Marathon this year and we went down to Washington DC for the Army 10 mile'er back in October. Both her and the running group she belongs to all swear by Saucony's. When she first started she got shin splints real bad and was told to switch to some certain pair of Saucony's. She refused and stayed with her Nikes for another 3 months and still suffered from the splints. She switched over and within a week and a half she was doing much better. She has not suffered any splints since switching 2 years ago.

if she can take the odd looks at the gym.I was just looking at getting some new running shoes and the Lunar Eclipse jumped out at me. I'm curious if they're anything like the LunarGlides...I'm sick of anything Shox or AirMax.

No doubt about it shoes matter for running and Sauconys are a solid choice. I can't say enough good things about the vibram five fingers though. I originally got them for weight lifting after I suffered a back injury due in no small part to the sole of my shoe slipping. I have since started using them for everything. They'd make a good christmas gift.

running bare foot or in "5 fingers" is not the best idea on hared sufaces without proper conditioning...think about running barefoot on concrete.i have plenty experience in runnning with the five fingers up to 8 mile runs in the sand but they definitely take time to condition...as far as weight lifting in them just taking your shoes off is the exact same as if you were wearing 5 fingers but a hundred dollars less....form is key, not the dollar you spend on equipment

i was comparing 5 fingers to being barefoot but good choice on shoes...very light and comfortable
Paul is not going to race that POS. He is going to bring the suby hillclimbing!
And since Andrew has a roll bar now, I'm hoping he decided to come out and race.
BTW, the dates are getting finalized for next years BR time trials. I expect to see everyone there.

Given that the Nationals are at Mid-O this year and Road America event is the final points event of the season, it may be tough to get locals out for the BR events
These events are TT only. Plus, it's a pretty small group that runs with NASA (especially TT's). I'm more worried about conflicting with hillclimbs, as we have 20 or more folks from the area that hillclimb.
We don't have alot of options as BR schedule is packed for the season.
