Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
congratulations.
the girodisc are nice because they're cheap and so far seem rather effective. the bite isn't as aggressive as stock but the stopping force seems quite comparable. less dust than stock (IX) pads too.
i had them at a couple autocross events last year and they did well at those speeds. i'm curious to see how they handle higher speeds and much higher temps though. the stock pads did quite well out on the north track, and the wilson circuit. i only really experienced fading when i was riding the brake more than i should have been.
i've thought about getting a set of track pads to swap in before i go out, but i don't think i have the tires/suspension to support anything much more aggressive than what i am currently running.
-edit-
i also tossed in some motul rbf600 a while back and have been very happy with that in combination with fresh pads and rotors.

and soon! When i get new pads, do i need to have the rotors cut?? sorry i have no idea about brakes and my dad keeps telling me ill have to have em cut..
Here is a reference about brake rotor service:

Bottom line: Resurface them if they need it (due to scoring or warping) and only if there is enough rotor left to leave you with more than the minimum required thickness after the resurface.

Damn when you ment stock where expensive you ment it! Holy crap there $340 for the front and $320 for the rear.... Probably going to go with aftermarket now

if you have the time/money i would recommend getting them cut.
Computer question for you guys that I haven't been able to figure out and I'm fairly knowledgeable when it comes to PCs.
It appears a bad windows update disabled my sata drivers on my motherboard. My hard drive isn't being recognized for me to boot or even reload these.
I've downloaded the nVidia driver from their website onto a flashdrive. Any idea how I can get my SATA ports working again? I have bootable BIOS CD that I'm going to try..
Thanks in advance.
Brett

Your mbr record likely needs to be changed so your drive letters are correct.
it's a good idea to get the rotors cut, but if they're in good condition you can sometimes get away with leaving them be.

**** cutting rotors. EVO rotors are cheap enough to just get new ones if they are needed. Otherwise jsut leave them be.
Thanks for all the brake help guys, I really appreaciate it! Think im just going to get new rotors from girodisc. Theirs sale for all 4 for $550 i think and get pads on top of that maybe.
rotorpros is a good inexpensive choice for a stock replacement, just be sure to get the premiums.
Good stuff last night
