Why are you selling it? It was really nice the last time I saw it. Dental school going well?

somewhere around 22 would be nice. I just put a set of yokahoma all seasons on it too. Im selling it because I decided to buy a truck. Was in the market for a raptor, but I came across an offer on a toyota tundra crewmax i couldnt pass up. Anyhow, the car is in great shape...stock clutch still holds strong, no slipping or no other mechanical problems. all of my maintenance was done by mike at bairel too. this was a daily driven car. no other mods besides what i listed.

Dental school sucks, one more year of bull****, then off to ripping out teeth and sewing up face in oral surgery residency!

question:

have any of you guys purchased a head unit that does bluetooth sync?

my current kenwood is on its last leg and i have been looking at replacements. most of the ones i am considering come with hands free bluetooth either built in to the unit, or as an accessory.

hands free would be really nice to have but i was just curious if anyone has rigged this up and where you ran the mic to as well as how the inherent background noise of the evo played with the calls going through the stereo?

so far i have narrowed it down to either this jvc:

or this kenwood:

I had a crazy dream last night. I drempt that someone stole me evo, painted it, added a bunch of crap to it, and brought it back to me looking like a South American taxi. I know it was just a dream, but boy I'm troubled by it today.

now i've confused myself even more by looking at more head units. my main use for it is going to be loading up a USB thumb drive with music, plugging it in and forgetting about it. so i need an easy way to skip tracks but also folders and artists.

i'm not sure that either of these have an easy folder/artist skip option in them, and i am kind of jaded on Kenwood at the moment because that's what my current head unit is.

when i bought it about 6 years ago for the first evo it was real expensive, about $550, and i only got about 2 - 2.5 years of good operation out of it before it started acting up on a consistent basis. i guess they're worth another shot though.

I have a JVC (it was the only one with a thumb drive that I could find way back then) It can skip a track or a folder (two different skip buttons). I don't know about the bluetooth, but I am probably going to follow you on your radio choice(not that I'm a follower). I have bluetooth in my truck and I am spoiled now.

i think it is gonna come down to me going to best buy and just playing with a few models until i find one i like, then coming back home and ordering it from crutchfield.

reading some of the reviews for the two i posted people were complaining about not being able to navigate around as easily as they would like, and of glare from the sun or polarized sunglasses blanking out the display.

we will see though.

The car is finally back.

First impressions of the cage.
Looks great!
Getting in and out is now very interesting. (Must be getting old)

I'm trying to buy some aero stuff at the moment. If we can figure a good way to ship the thing, i should be set on that front. Either way i should at least have a new wing.

That's all the Mike needs right now....working on another caged car to cripple him

What are you going to do for a wing?

I was about to order the Kognition wing. The Huge one! lol

Then i came across the wing and a decent splitter for sale. Were trying to figure out a way to get the splitter to me. UPS wont ship it and Fed ex freight wanted $800. Were going to try to send it Greyhound to see if that works. If not i will just get the wing and make a splitter like the one shown. (that was my origianal plan until i saw the easy way out)

I can see that practicing fire drills in full gear will be required. It would be a tuff thing to have a side impact protection seat and hans, and get out of the thing fast.
